do you not feel that working with an engine for a couple of years is sufficient to get well acquainted with it? that post is from 2021..
I reached out to the OP for help on on my fte and he told me he wasn’t sharing everything he’s learned over the years for free. Yet in 2021 he was soliciting help for free.

What @fj80rodngun forgot to mention is he isn’t doing his own work. His shop doesn’t know how to delete this or that, wire it or whatever. I told him I am not here to educate his shop on how to do swaps.
I did go as far as to tell him which ECU to use and that he is getting bad info because people are telling him he can’t do this or that. I took time out of my day for a phone convo with him when he will never spend a dime in my shop.
Obviously he didn’t like that so he came here to make a fuss. The point of this thread @fj80rodngun was never to solicit free info on “how to do it”. The point of the thread was to gather info on what potential problems are with these engines, what to expect from used engines and so forth. That morphed into me showing off our builds here which I posted about pages earlier.
Good luck with your swap.

I asked you how to delete soft shutoff because I got varying information. I wasn’t quizzing you a how complete a conversion. I was asking on my behalf. I told you when I reached out to you I had questions. I thought you was decent enough to ask since you don’t have a problem asking for tips and tricks. I didn’t ask for fn trade secrets or IP. I suspect you’re not from Idaho with your attitude. What was your finally comment to me, call somebody in Aus they’ll help but I’m not helping another shop. Good thing everyone on mud doesn’t have that attitude.
Can we quit the bitchin’ and get back to some more kick ass Diesels?

You stated which shop and the owner of that shop who is doing the swap for you. So how is that reaching out for yourself?

If you can’t figure out how to delete the soft shut down you are in for a real surprise when you try to wire the ECU and integrate that into an FZJ80 wiring harness.
No I didn’t tell you “just go talk to some guy in Australia”, I told you there are several guys in Australia who make and sell wiring harnesses with the unnecessaries deleted. Those guys are either a pita or do subpar work for our standards so we took the time and spent the money to figure it all out so we can build our own harnesses in house. I hear ya and I am not into the back and forth at all. I absolutely can not stand drama. However, I pay for vendor status on this forum to promote my business. I also do threads like this for that same purpose. The point of ALL that is to attract new customers who like what we do.
Somebody comes into one of my threads and makes a stink, I feel I should respond. I am done with this guy though and if he wants to keep it up I will simply block him.

So we haven’t swapped an FT or FTE into a 60 yet. The 79-series I posted pics of may have fooled you. That’s the one with the silver valve cover, white Cruiser.
Shouldn’t be a problem to swap any of the 1HDx engines into a 60 though. In fact should fit really nice as the 1HDx series of engines are just evolved xH series of engines. Meaning the 1HDx engines are very similar in dimensions and weight to the H/2H/12HTs.

Yeah I volunteered the name of the shop because I’m not a shady a******. Yes hell it was for my own knowledge because I do my own research regardless if you was working on it or whoever. I do my research to know what I’m paying for and if I’m getting what I’m paying for. I told you I had questions about a fte swap. Buddy, if you'd put as much time into creating a thread of your own asking your questions here on MUD, as you have in this thread ragging on @SNLC, you might have got the answers you needed already. Why come onto a public forum, bashing one guy running a commercial outfit, for not giving you answers for free privately to a question you haven't even raised with everyone else? This was something for a PM, not here. I'd like to get back to the sweet Toyota diesel porn please, that's what I subscribe to this thread for.
