You can't have them all yet, I still have to pull the whole smash apart to get a few things I need. I should be able to get them out West when I find away to get the rack and seat from Brett.:p

Dropped the gearbox today and am starting the rebuild of the T-cast on to the new H55.

Well, the transmission and transfer case build up is complete!!!:bounce: The Marks overdrive gears are in and all new nuts, bolts, washers, gaskets and bearings are adorning the new case.

Now, I need to recruit some slave labor from the Eastern Chapter members to get it under the truck and on to the transmission jack:doh:

Maybe next weekend, possibly turn it into a mini- HAMOM if anybody else has any other work that needs done on their trucks.

I will ply your participation with roasted mammal flesh and tasty beverages made from choice hops and barley;)

Shoot, of you can trailer the 40 over, we can knock out the lift. Just start soaking the shackles now;)

If anybody from the east wants to come, let me know so I can be sure we have enough food and beers. However, I don't want to pull anybody thinking about going to Jerry's axle swap HAMOM.

So Alex are we talking mother's day Saturday? I've got to work but the huz can come out for the day. Adam - we've done the suspension so if it runs late - I'll be over at 630 if you guys are still working..I could actually be of use!

I may hold off on the suspension. Mr Baldree commonly referred to as Gary said he wanted to have a Harmon at his shop. I think using a lift will make the job mucho easier. Plus I don't have all my parts yet.

A hamom at his place? Sold! You've said lots great things about him..I'm in for that!

With Adam's help, the H55 and transfer is back in the truck:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

However, I think there may be a problem with the gearbox. The shift lever is in the neutral position, and I cannot out it into any gear. But, the transmission is in gear because when I start the truck, the output flanges on the transfer case spin.

ANy ideas anybody?

I am not familiar with the shifting mechanism of the H55, but is it possible to install the shift tower and shifter with the shift rails/forks in gear, but the leg of the shifter out of alignment so that the shifter appears to be in N but is locked there? I have seen this happen with older domestic 5 speeds ( specifically a Spicer - I think - in a deuce).

Two things could have gone wrong:
1. Shifter installed incorrectly. Take the shifter out and look into the top cover of the transmission. You should see where the end of the shift lever engages the shift fork linkage. Ensure that the shift lever is engaging the shift fork linkage correctly.
2. Top cover installed incorrectly. This is fixed by taking the top cover off of the transmission and ensuring that each shifter fork is properly seated in its collar.

I pulled the shift lever out and took a few pics of the shift lever housing and the linkages around it that I could see.
