******* that thing was heavy! Some good ole redneck engineering, a beer and 2 Marines anything can get done.

Alex let me know if you need more help with anything I'm here to help and drink your beer.

Alex, you should be able to stick a 3/8" extention into that hole and shift the transmission. If that thing won't move then the shift forks are not in the collars and the top cover has to come off.

Johnny, thanks for the info. It looks line the top cover stuff is all in neutral, but after talking to Darin and searching around a bit, since I had the transmission input shaft down when I built up the transfer case, the reverse hear slid partially into gear, which I think is my problem. And that really sucks because I don't think I can get to it with the top plate on, and I dont think I will be able to get the top plate off without dropping the tranny again unless anybody knows a majic trick to get the reverse gear it re-seated where it should be. And I just got the friggin thing re-installed:mad:

Well, hopefully Gary will have the Baldree's HAMOM and I can use their lifts and tools. If not, I may go visit Darin to use his stuff. I just don't think I can take the thing off and put it back on again in the garage:bang:

How much room you have around the top cover and the body ? Looks to me like it could be pulled up enough to get it right. It does not have to come completely off, just up a few inches at the most.

Maybe two inches, maybe more if I unbolted the cross member and lowered the whole thing.

Alex I'm down to help drop if it comes to that. I'm sure we can sweet talk Gary into using a lift on a sat or even the hobby shop on base. I have truck and trailer I work for ranger beer!

Darin, Wednesday after maybe 10am would be best. Maybe Friday morning or afternoon, Tuesday morning up until maybe noon.

Not too busy this week, and am still hopeful for the Sat work day;)

Anything particular that would be needed? I have everything to completely rebuild the transfer case. wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, impact tools, torque wrenches, brass hammer and drift, most everything outside of specific SST type stuff

Im off Wednesday - need someone to stand around and offer unhelpful advice?

Anybody is welcome, I'll be sure to have some food and bubbly refreshments. Just let me know who all wants to come.
