Used a taurus fan on one of my projects and it's amazing how well they cool. Can pick them up for almost nothing and wiring was very easy.

Yeah, on one hand I'm with the conventional wisdom that the Toya fan pulls plenty of air, and it it ain't broke don't fix it. On the other hand, even with the turbo, the troopie is such a pig that it would be nice to get the little bit of power back that the fan and clutch mooches from the engine:meh:

I've never had a manual fan on mine since I bought it...... used to have dual electrics, one broke and now I have one..... most of the time I don't even switch it on as I do mostly hwy driving. Only time it has over "overheated" is going through the deep sand at OBX.

Fedex man stopped by with a care package from Carl at Just Diff.

New gears, lockers, master rebuild kit and solid pinion spacers. Once i get the thirds out, off to Darin's shop it all goes:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Well I need alot of stuff. Haha was just going offer my company for the ride for what its worth.

Not unless you want to ride with me from NC, to MS, and back to NC again :grinpimp:

Got verification from Lance at IPOR that the new springs are on the way from ARB.

Ok, progress update.

While I haven't gotten any actual work done, I finally got the last box of parts from Australia.

This weekend, hopefully I can get the brakes swapped out, new rotors, calipers and pads from NAPA. While that is going on, I'll re-build the front axle hubs, re-grease everything and drop the thirds so I can get them to Darin one of these days. He will hopefully be able to get the thirds re-built and the TJM lockers installed while everything else is torn apart. Also, I'll be sending off the hubs to wab-fab for a rebuild and new powder coat

I'll be dropping the tranny and T-case fluid and start the re-build of the T-case with the Mark's overdrive gears. I'll also be checking out the tranny and clutch while it's all torn apart and see what needs loving with that.

The new 16x7 Tundra steel wheels have the new tall, skinny Cooper Discoverer S/Ts on them and with some spacers, will look pretty nice when back on.

New tie & relay rods along with new ends go on next and I have new main and sub tank solenoids, senders, new prime pump that wil go on at the same time.

Hopefully I can get the axles put back together and then I can put the new OME springs, shocks and shackles on alomng with new sway bar bushings and links.

finally, new water pump, filters, oil, P/S pump and a few other bits and pieces on the motor for the refresh under the hood.

Lots to do:bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Well, finally had some time to work on the troopie this weekend.

Darin has my thirds done, so I'll be TJM locked soon.

I dropped the fluids in the TC and tranny. Tranny was looking good, TC on the other hand still pewter looking and lo and behold look what I fished out of the TC.

Is this bad? :grinpimp:

Good thing I already have the rebuild kit and Marks gears already. Question will be is to I grab a new H55F as long as I'll have everything apart? I guess I'll answer that question when I take a peek at the clutch and see if I need to swap anything there:hhmm:

Alex, I put your reciept in the box of switches and stuff. I really do not like the front one still as far as the line is concerned but it is what it is. I am going to put a link up from here on mud about what someone else did and the part number.

Alex im holding your lockers and third members hostage! Wonder if they will fit in my 40? Hmmm.....

Give me a holler and we will arrange a peaceful release of the hostages.

Well, got some work done on the troopie the last few weeks.

Gears, gears and more gears. Got the T-case on Greg's old A440F broken down so I can send the back shell off to Advance Adapters to get the mod dome for the overdrive gears.

Hopefully the H55 will get here in the next week or two and that will mean I need to go buy or borrow a tranny jack so I can drop the current one and T-case
