After a long time of searching all over the internet and US for a nice 80 series, it turned out that one just so happened to be a few hours away from me, and owned by someone on Mud no less! I picked up a sweet 1996 Moonglow Cruiser from @mel lowe and I couldn't be happier to finally have a truck that I've always wanted. I keep going outside just to stare at the rear sliding window (big fan since I was a kid).

So far she has a few things done to her, that can be seen on one of the PO's threads here on the forums. I don't have much else planned for her other than continual PM and some Toyo 285/75's very soon.

Just wanted to introduce myself, as all I do now is browse these forums day and night!

Glad things worked out!

Those pictures are show quality.
Beautiful place & sunset.

Best OEM 80 color, for sure.

What are your long and short term build plans?

Where is that? It looks familiar

Instead of long and short term... I'll put it like this: for the time being, I want to learn everything I can about this truck. The engine really fascinates me and this is my first Toyota, so I plan on replacing everything as needed with new OEM parts and keeping her running as long as I can! As far as modifications go, I would love to complete the ARB theme by adding a roof rack for my kayak, snorkel and hood vents (I'm obsessed with cooling), and some 285/75's to complete the look. This is my daily driver, and I won't be doing much offroading, so the build will be somewhat mild, but aimed towards an OEM+ overland theme.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

I need to install the oil pump gasket and front seal. I am thinking about doing some other things while I have stuff taken apart. Any ideas? I assume the radiator has to come off?
-new water pump
-thermostat
-any belts?

I'm in St. Pete as well, I guess that's why it looked so familiar. There aren't many 80's around here. Not sure what your interests are but we have a ride coming up in October, usually about 5 or 6 from Florida and head up to North Georgia mountains for wheeling and camping. If you've got any interest, let me know.
