1992 JDM Diesel 5-Speed Triple-Locked Land Cruiser – 160k Miles – CA Title/Reg

Rare, well-maintained JDM Land Cruiser with triple lockers, diesel power, and a 5-speed manual. This truck has been meticulously upgraded and needs absolutely nothing—everything works down to the smallest detail. It’s equally at home cruising on the highway as it is crawling across the Rubicon.

I personally imported this Land Cruiser, and a trusted local LC expert completed all upgrades and servicing. From the full Dynamatt interior for quite long trips to a suspension setup dialed so it drives like new, every detail has been carefully thought out. It easily cruises at 75 mph uphill at altitude, returns a fuel economy of close to 28 mpg, and is ready for anyone to really use it.

There is no major rust, no body damage, and no leaks. All seals, windows, doors, and lights work perfectly. The interior is clean, odor-free, and highly functional.

I really don't want to sell this car, but we don't drive it, so I'm asking for $50k. At that price, I would have to sell it, so please don't send low-ball offers or ask how I obtained the California registration.
Thank you, Martin.

I got my diesel JDM HDJ81 registered in 2017 without a single hiccup. Walked in. Walked out with a registration... in Los Angeles. Had someone who overrode the short VIN number and did not GAF about their job.

Nice lookin 80. Well done. GLWTS.

Thanks, I actually had to get a new VIN. So car was CHP inspected and a new VIN was assigned and a plate added to the car.

Things changed in mid 2017. At one point I found a PDF of the DMV staff memo explaining it. Now it all hinges on whether you have a fed decal under the hood "this vehicle conforms to all regulations in place at the time of manufacture ... Blah blah". Since then new registrations of grey market imports (as indicated by lack of decal) have to be inspected by CEE in Santa ana for upwards of $10k. Unless things have changed again, which would be awesome to know.

Nice looking 80. GLWS. I am working on a 90 hdj80 for a friend right now.

Why are there ratchet straps around the fuel tank?
