I have a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser I need to re-home. Only 147k miles, yes it is triple locked. Yes the lockers work, the D light works, even the moon roof works and does not leak! Don’t ask about power antenna working, it’s manual operation only currently. Runs and drives great, garners a lot of attention. A/C blows ice cold, heat works great! Put in a lot of work to get this restored and built up correctly. Over $12k in parts put in since I have owned it.
Cons: Body, has some scratches, dings, dents, couple areas of cracked paint, some paint bubbles, and some hail dents on roof.
Carpet could use replacing, had a DVD player previously removed on headliner. Previous owner added a mount for likely antenna to rear hatch area, has been removed, ground down, treated and painted. Front bumper could use some touch up paint. It’s 28 years old, not perfect but it’s a beast!
Pros:
Work done: Will start with most labor intensive, rust. Started its life in New Jersey, so I spent a lot of time sand blasting, wire wheeling, needle scaling, replacing a ridiculous amount of parts, and then sprayed with corroseal and finished with a clear top coat. Was not severe but looked like crap and wanted to permanently preserve this piece of art. Here are all the parts I can think of that were replaced over the last 7k miles.
New parts/service:
-front seat skins
-exterior window seals/trim on all 4 windows
-spark plugs and wires
-front brake rotors and pads
-rear calipers and pads
-cigarette lighter/power
-PCV valve
-birfields serviced and repacked
-Front and rear differential’s, transfer case, transmission fluid
-Toyota OEM radiator, fresh coolant
-Driver and passenger Inner and outer tie rods
-Relay rod
-Alignement completed
New Suspension:
OME BP-51 3” lift kit medium load
ARB adjustable front track bar
ARB adjustable panhard rod
ARB adjustable upper trailing arms
ARB lower trailing arms
New ARB springs
New OME steering stabilizer bar
Armor and tires:
Rear ARB bumper
Front ARB bumper with warn winch (was existing on not new)
Slee rock sliders (slider steps)
New 35” BFG KO3 tires
