Extra mirror...lol needed repainting then....
Done now :)

So that's the norm there? A mirror on each of the front doors and a third on the front fender? Is that stock or is that a common mod:hhmm:

Its common for the JDM ones we get here to have an extra single mirror there. Except mines a modded one from a 100 series which has the twin mirror design for front and side views.

Don't let it get HOT! Contrary to popular belief, The HG plague isn't just a 1FZ thing.

Ask me how I know.

List would be good...

Baseline, de-smog, front axle rebuild etc. all done on my 92. I just advanced the timing and valve adjustment is next on the list. Runs like is should and I love it. Keeping an eye on this thread to see what I missed. I knew what to expect and have 0 regrets on choosing a 3fe.

And the next time anyone asks about the engine, here is what I'm going to tell them :grinpimp:

It's a tractor motor. You can pour beer in the fuel tank and urinate in the crank case and it'll run for 100k miles.
Many, if not all of the older 3FE Cruisers have been badly neglected by owners who only fix things when they break. The motor will continue to run (albeit poorly) even with severe neglect. The 3FE was designed to use crappy fuel in 3rd world countries and run forever.

91 FJ 80 here
have done the above list plus:
alum radiator (stay away from CSF)
replace all radiator hoses including all the small ones (to oil cooler, etc)
remove EGR, smog pump and cap vacuum lines (if allowed)
replace all fluids
replace OEM fuel pump relay with early Camry plastic relay
replace all power steering lines recently, zero leaks.
222k miles and doesn't burn a drop of oil.

love my 3FE....
keep the engine in good bill of health, keep the engine cool, keep it relatively light and with proper gearings and tire, it will hold its own on grade climbs against 1FZ-fe and no HG woes..
