Charles looking forward to the first test flight for HZJ77 hope it's all smooth cruising. :)
Thanks @ozcrusier
It's been a rather slow process (partially the result of many components having to come from Australia and Japan) but we're getting oh so close. The exterior is basically complete and the attention is now directed to the interior. The shop is installing a *pyrometer, boost gauge and transmission temp. gauge as well as replacing the radio. The bulk of the interior lights are being converted to LED and the Powertank has to be mounted. These task along with a handful of small items are all that's left. A full length, low profile roof rack has been laid out and partially fabricated but needs to be completed.

Before someone mentions it, a turbocharger hasn't been installed but it is much easier to install the gauges while some of the dash is already removed. The turbo and Intercooler are scheduled to be installed this Spring.

C, are you doing the garret like on your 2h?
What about the IC?
Karter, We are sticking with the Garrett turbo although it will most likely be a different model and our plans are to install an air/water Intercooler. I want to drive the engine "normally aspirated" for a couple of months before the project starts.

Trust me on this you have better options than a Garrett. If you aren't planning on boosting the thing over 15lbs don't bother on the IC.

Keep it simple and clean.

Rather it's a Garrett or not hasn't been determined at this point however it's hard to fault the one that's on the HJ75. I'm very pleased with the power / temp. combination. (I didn't know the ole 2H was capable of such grunt)
Rob has been designing and installing custom turbo set ups for decades and his talents in this area are hard to measure.
As I mentioned earlier, I plan to drive the Cruiser "normally aspirated" for a while anyway.

This setup meets the "simple and clean" criteria in my opinion. (and yes I realize it's not a 1HZ)
The photo was shamelessly stolen from @GTSSportCoupe

I want to see a picture of the entire air box and its location.

There is an OEM bend tube for that section into the fender.

Any chance you could post up some more detailed photos of the Air can and how you worked it with the snorkel? Is the 77 series air can differnt than other 70 series air cans?

I'm currently in a land far far away but I'll be home Thursday.

Rub it in a little, why don't ya? ;)

Got the Japanese documents to prove it?

While I'm not so naive to think that no one ever manipulates odometers, unless they also changed out the ENTIRE interior, which appears to be basically unused, I'm very comfortable with the odometer reading. I've been around vehicles long enough to get a sense when the mileage and the condition of major components don't match and that's certainly isn't the case here. Every section (interior, frame, drivetrain and engine bay) matches what you would expect to see on a low mileage Cruiser.

Just giving you a hard time. Your truck definitely looks the part for the low KM's! Although I think they are catching on over in Japan that Americans are crazy for low KM vehicles as the past several 77 series on auction below 100,000 KM had false readings and its nice Japan keeps really good records for vehicles.

Brian ....... Here are the photos you requested. Let me know if they are not adequate.
