Although it was a royal pain in the arse, Rob has overcome the challenge of having a Safari Snorkel and fender mounted mirrors.

It's a TIGHT fit. :)
Now to move on to the other challenge .... Connecting it to the airbox. (The 1990 HZJ77 has a very unique airbox)

Well, you're a very unique fella, Chas. :)

Nossir, but you have a keen eye and a sophisticated pallet...... I meant palate........(suspension humor) :)

Those blue pallets are going on Ebay. I'll be rich. :)

Although the radiator actually appeared to be in very good condition for its age, we decided to pull it out and run it through the radiator hospital. Onur is sourcing new top and bottom radiator hoses.
Rob's about 75% complete with the "need to do" checklist. :)

Akella and Radd Cruisers are 2 excellent sources for rad hoses for your 77. Both are on Mud and are easy to find and contact. They should be able to get your hoses quickly and Radd may even have them in stock.

Onur's got them coming but I'll add those names to my Rolodex. For you "yutes" on 'MUD, a Rolodex is a desktop card index used to record names, addresses, and telephone numbers, in the form of a rotating spindle or a small tray to which removable cards are attached. (One of the top five inventions of all time)

....Thanks....

Right after carbon copies. Oh the joy of mechanically rolling a credit card and pulling out your carbon copy

Interesting discovery..... Despite the fact that my rims are designed for tubeless tires, the previous owner (a Japanese gentleman) had installed tubes in all 5 tires. I don't know if this is a common practice in Japan.

The "complete the project" to-do list.......
Remove one leaf from the rear springs.
Paint rear bumper and install / wire the rear bumper backup / work lights.
Finish installation of snorkel.
Install backup camera.
Install radiator and new hoses.
Final buffing of paint.
Fabricate and install roof rack.
Paint and install rear ladder and side steps.
Complete installation of radio and gauges.
Install Powertank.
Install seat covers.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a number of items and I'll probably update the list after the caffeine kicks in.

Interesting list of "to do's": is the back up camera 24v? Where and what type of display (video screen in rearview mirror)? I have not found a 24V backup camera system despite much searching. Where are you mounting g the camera? And what type of seat covers? Where did you source them from (I'm looking for a set but have not been successful in finding a suitable set).

12V backup camera (7" Display) but we have 12V available throughout the cab so voltage really isn't an issue. Smittybilt seat covers .... I had them on my BJ74 and they are well made and protect the high-wear parts of the seat.

7" Display in the rear view mirror. The camera itself will be integrated into the license plate holder.

The projects keep rolling in. :)
I'm glad I'm at the top of the pecking order.

Between the long wheel base and the fender mounted mirrors, the back up camera is money well spent in my opinion.
The 7" video screen is more than adequate and the video quality is actually very good.
