Advanced Adapters used to have lots of Ford to Toyota stuff. John

Well first off Welcome.

Before anyone jumps on this, a little more info would be good.

What is your goal for the rig? Other mods planned or currently installed? Etc.

Advanced adapters might make some adapters for the C6 to the toyota case. They might even make a 302 to toyota 5 spd adapter.

Your trans and t-case are going to depend on what parts you might want to keep. An SAS with a toyota axle will mean a passenger side drop and most ford cases are drivers side drop so you will either be doing a ford axle or adapting to a toyota case. Of course with all the custom axles out there you could get something together.

If you are keeping the ifs, you will have to adapt to the toyota case to keep the correct drop.

Unless you are good at wiring I would stick with either a manual trans or an older none electric automatic like the old C6's.

That should give you some food for thought, and would like to hear more about the plans.

Anyone have any tips on certains trans or transfer to use on a 4 runner has a 3" body lift and a 4.5" suspention lift with a auto trans and 3.0 V6 want to put a 302 ford v8 and keep an auto trans for ease of driving

Advance adapters makes an adapter to mate the ford AOD transmission to the Toyota 21 spline transfer case (4 cyl, gear drive case) The AOD would be a good choice, it has overdrive and is not electronic. The 302 is a very tight fit in the 4runner. it is narrow enough, but it is long. You will need to use the shorter 5.0L Explorer or later model 5.0L Mustang timing cover, pulleys and accessory brackets. Even with that we had to modify the core support to move the radiator forward. We used the Ford Explorer radiator and fan clutch.
