Power steering pump leaking.
Awhile back my power steering pump leaked out and had to run it dry a little while to get home. So I did a flush, put an inline filter and replaced it.
It was fine for awhile and my vacuum control valve started leaking into the intake, then it blew out the spring and emptied. Replaced that and it instantly blew out again.
I read people just plug that up. So I did and everything was great for a while then the leak happened again. This time I discovered it’s coming from the seal for the pulley shaft. Obviously I’m getting an over pressure.
So I pull the filter. Absolutely clean. Jacked up the front end and ran it. I noticed if I turn to much it causes the leak.
I’m going to do a rebuild on the original pump, but why am I getting an over pressure? I’m using atf fluid, everything seems in order. Is my belt not tight enough?
