Power steering pump leaking.
Awhile back my power steering pump leaked out and had to run it dry a little while to get home. So I did a flush, put an inline filter and replaced it.
It was fine for awhile and my vacuum control valve started leaking into the intake, then it blew out the spring and emptied. Replaced that and it instantly blew out again.
I read people just plug that up. So I did and everything was great for a while then the leak happened again. This time I discovered it’s coming from the seal for the pulley shaft. Obviously I’m getting an over pressure.

So I pull the filter. Absolutely clean. Jacked up the front end and ran it. I noticed if I turn to much it causes the leak.

I’m going to do a rebuild on the original pump, but why am I getting an over pressure? I’m using atf fluid, everything seems in order. Is my belt not tight enough?

likely the pressure valve is stuck. possibly from being run dry or just gummed.
rebuild should clear it up if its not galled

Have you bypassed the cooler line? You shouldn't, just checking. Try the rebuild route, or just get a reman from NAPA (that's what I did, nothing would stop the leaks) and it's been great for a year now.

No reroute. Right on. I’ll get after it, can’t for the mess haha.

Are you talking about the vacuum control valve? If so I removed that and plugged the hole. It’s a common mod. I keep blowing them out.
