Greetings all! I have a 1989 Bandeirante 0J50. Is this the correct tech forum or is there a better focused one for this LC off shoot?

There is a Bandeirante forum under "Other Tech", but I don't think it gets a ton of traffic.

Sweet truck!

Very interesting truck!
Where is the spare stored?
Would you mind posting pictures of the interior gauge setup?

Maybe I can help with this, mine is from the same year, only a few months before the square headlights came out...

In this Photo you can see the aforementioned bracket sitting behind the dash panel to the left of the glove box compartment...
Well, that seems like less of an afterthought than throwing it outside on the window frame, but maintenance has got to be easier on the 40 series. Thanks for the pic!

Keep in mind that Bandys have a electric wiper motor, not a vaccuum operated one... For you guys it's way easier to fit a FJ40 original wiper motor, but for us here in Brazil we had to deal with the few parts we could get (for instance, the bandeirante OEM wiper motor is the same used by VW in the beetle)...

Found a photo of the center instrument cluster that I took while I was preparing to paint it. The left round space is for the rev meter, the rightmost one was originally occupied by a clock, but I use it now to fit a boost pressure meter, as I turbocharged my Mercedes Benz engine. You can see also the spaces for fitting the stereo and ashtray on the bottom, plus holes for fitting the headlights switches, choke (to turn off the engine and adjust idle speed) and cigarrette lighter...

Later I will take a photo of the original rev meter...
