Have installed 5 speed with 3F bellhousing in 1987 FJ60.
Now when the clutch pedal all the way down, engine is disengaged. Pedal all the way out, seems to drive OK. But when pedal is partially pushed, it’s making a noise as if something spinning is hitting something. A buzzing noise. What could it be, what did I do wrong? It happens no matter what gear you’re in. As soon as you push the pedal even a little bit down, it makes that loud noise. I took it apart and installed a different throwout bearing, same noise still occurring! I checked clutch disk etc for signs of wear, couldn’t see anything.
????? Help

have you had the inspection cover off and look inside?
have someone depress the pedal and see what is happening?
engine off
the pilot bearing only spins when the clutch is depressed, other wise the flywheel and input shaft are spinning at the same RPM

My suspicion is its the clutch throwout bearing making noise.
Make sure that the clutch slave cylinder is in tip top condition and genuine Toyota only. The slave has an internal spring inside it that applies constant pressure to the throwout bearing.

If applying a little pressure to the clutch pedal when its fully released causes the noise - its likely because the throwout bearing is engaging the clutch spring tangs.
Normally , the T.O. bearing should be spinning all the time

I thought it only spins when engaging the pressure plate??
with freeplay the TO bearing shouldn't be contacting the pressure plate

Best first thing to do is remove the inspection cover and take some pictures and post them here.

What brand clutch and PP did you use?

Pilot bearing (in the end of the crankshaft) should have been replaced. You're gonna kick yourself if you now have to pull the whole thing again for want of a $20 part. Use the Genuine Toyota bearing - it's the best readily available one.

Also, did the clutch disc go in correctly? The 'snout' on the disc (if it's the Aisin/ASCO DT-075 disc) must face toward the engine.

The ‘86-‘87 clutch parts are a bit different than the earlier years. The PO’s slave cylinder applies (or should apply) a constant pressure to the throw out bearing to keep the bearing in constant contact with the clutch tangs - and always spinning.

I used the old clutch parts from the 4 speed. It was replaced about a year ago so it should beb all good. Does the 5 speed require a different clutch???? I guess I’ll have to take it all apart again. Ugh.

H55f 5 spd uses same clutch components as the 4 spd H42
