Have a 86 Toyota pickup. It’s cranking but not starting. I’m getting fuel and getting spark but still won’t start. New plugs and distributor cap and rotor bug. Any info on what could be wrong??

Welcome to MUD. :flipoff2: <-official MUD welcome.

The only thing I can suggest, based off your description, is make sure it's really getting gas. Go to your local auto-box store and get a can of starting fluid. While you have a buddy crank the engine, spray into the carburetor and see what happens.

How did you determine it has spark and fuel? Has the distributor been off the head? Did it run before, and this problem just started?

Also, I'm curious why you didn't also replace the spark plug wires?

Tried starting fluid with no luck. And when pushing the throttle I can see fuel shooting into carb. Hits when it wants to pretty much. I found good blue spark at the end of each plug after I replaced the blogs, cap and rotor big. No the distributor has not been took off head. Was running and then just quit while driving.

OK. I have a rule. I always start simple and work up from there. I never assume something sinister right off the bat.

Back when I had my 82 truck it quit working one day in the mountains. The problem? Fuel filter. The thing is, if your truck is not lighting with ether, then it's probably a spark issue. That could be anything in the chain from the coil/ignitor to the plugs.

A point of housekeeping. At the bottom of your post there are the words <report> <edit> <delete>. The <edit> button will let you fix your comment if you type something goofy. You would not be the first to reread what you wrote and say "doh."

I would check your timing just to be sure all is good.

Put the motor to TDC and verify that the rotor is pointing at 11 o'clock.

OK, on the sinister side. Did you break the timing chain? Pull the rocker arm cover off and look. You can also pull the dizzy cap and rotate the engine from the crank pulley and see if the rotor turns.

I found that the truck jumped time. Picked up new timing chain kit and gunna install it tomorrow. Thanks for the help
Wow! Got pics of how much it moved?
