I have a renewed respect for the people who do this stuff for a living. :)

After seeing how these turned out I now wish I had done the rear bed and tailgate in the same material.
Well maybe next time ..... :)

nice work , those steps worked out a treat , what's the special paint on them called.
At least the mats sorted out now so your next project can be putting your Lexus rims on the 75.

Wouldn't that render the Lexus somewhat useless without rims? :D
That would be to much "bling-bling" for my ole Cruiser. :)

It will also save the heavy fuel bill.

you can get the proper mats from Japan 4X4 (the only place i found that can actually locate them in North America and Europe). not cheap but new and proper.

and

that mat looks quite acceptable, old boy

Thanks for the contact information Wayne.
I already dropped them an email.

I saw some cutting and patching below the gear shifter.:D

What you actually saw was a LOT of cutting and patching below the gear shifter. :D
Patience and glue played a large role in this project. :)

If it makes you feel better I had to remove seats then my vinyl flooring just to change the nylon bush at the bottom of the gear stick .

Normally someone else's misery does make me feel better however this time it didn't
work. Nice try though .... :D

Hi,

Love your HJ75 landcruiser, very similar to what I am looking for a upgrade

I am new to the 2H diesel engine

What are they like on fuel

Are they a reliable engine

Are they gustless

At the moment I am driving a 1966 fj45 landcruiser with a 1981 2F/4 speed in it and she is underpowered

Thankyou

Michael

Thanks for the compliment...... I am also very fond of the 45 Series Cruisers. ( 1978 HJ45 ) :)

I live in a rural area where dirt road are still common and I was wondering if a pre-cleaner has a distinct advantage over a "mushroom style" cap in this enviornment.
I am also curious if they rob horsepower which is in short supply on a 2H. :)
Thoughts, opinions.......

I just took mine off yesterday on my 77 and put the ram back on for a comparison.

It's a hell of a lot quieter to drive without the pre-cleaner on.

Since running 14.5lbs boost I am curious to know if there is truly a change in its performance without it on. I'm also curious if it's going to have enough flow to run 20lbs of boost in the future without it restricting the engines air requirements.

I have heard some people have issues with the safari snorkel being restrictive while others measure vacuum and find its not an issue.

I guess time will tell. But yes they are a very good thing to have, mine catches stuff. I would make sure your snorkel is truly sealed as well with some sikaflex. Also probably look into getting the 10" precleaner model. They are simply a Donaldson product.

Was it noisy because of the internal workings / air flow or the fact that it looks like a small spaceship has landed on the end of your snorkel? ( aerodynamic noise? )

The internal design / air flow of the precleaner makes it noisey. Its a hissing sucking sound. The turbo itself doesn't actually make that much noise :meh:
