Ken,
Quick question, I assume the original LX badges were stick on as I don't have any holes on the apron for them?
If not stick on, then I guess there are not original ?
Yes the badge was a stick on to the side panel. I am not sure how you local Toyota parts dealer is over there but when I was looking for my LX badges I managed to track down a set which are genuine Toyota of a BJ73 (Bundera) which are identical to the 40 series one. I paid $38.98 AUD each for mine and just ordered them through Toyota. Part number is TO-7544160240. I think what Toyota did is when they released the Bundera in 1985 straight after the demise of the 40 series they must have realised they had a heap of the badges left over and called the Bundera an LX as well. As you can see from the pic my original 40 series LX badge is the top one and the one that I ordered is at the bottom.

Never noticed the welder, he must get bored with the fabric?? Have a closer look at the fabric area of cover between both seats ?Those seats look in great condition mate. I heard there was someone on here that works between Aust and China who says that he could have gotten a one off run done a few years back for about $4-$5 per meter which I thought would have been great as I reckon that there would be enough of a market to on sell it and recoup you money or even make a few dollars. He said the same thing that they would only do a 1000mtr run as it was a one off.
As for something strange in the first pic I must be missing something mate. This only thing I can see is why does an upholster need a welder in his workshop.
PleaseAnd definitely going to change the yellow on drums and disks ????

Agree , black or grey on brakes, no hooks, will check the wiper before i cut . They say the fields are greener far away, right, as long I am not rolling down those hills upside down ???PleaseHi temp calliper paint is what you want. 1 x rattle can ought to do it.
Go no windshield hold down hooks IMO. White will look good against the rolling greenAnd I'd trim the length of that third wiper rather than have it crooked.
Yes, like an injured snot? Then it'd be white against the green, blue, green, blue..
My guess would be 1) For fun and 2) to fix seat frames people bring in. Im sure older seats once he tears into them he has probably had to fix frames that either rusted out or just broke.
Can definitely see it being one of those things that doesn't get used, but is rather nice to have on hand when he needs it
1. Pretty sure it's actually an expanded foam covered in some kind of vinyl. But yes, stock I believe.
2. Yes. Most fella's chucked 'em.
3. Wish I could help. An original floor mat might not be too much of a budgetary stretch?
