The body shop guys knew about the Cygnus White for the top but said it would look like a white shirt with a cream tie ???
They will wait until I get back at the weekend with some samples.

I don't know, it looks ok to me, just need to repair a few patches on the tub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;);)

Dunno about those colours mate, you might want to strip it all off back to the bare body and look at some other possibilities :)

Now that I think about it, maybe white trucks came with 033 roofs? Or even the same white as the body?

The cap and bezel are the same colour as the body on my 033 code LX.
Thanks Gary, loved your thread on the 84LX, just a bit jealous of all the original panels, back seats , mats etc you have ?

Picked these up from my local Toyota breaker in West Africa during the week, reckon they came from 70' series as thats what he mostly breaks.
Got the double brackets and the brackets with the holes, believe this combination is from a 70 series. Reckon I can use two bracket or bracket with hole bracket combination, right ?
Cannot read decal on the jack, but he says its a 5 tonne ? 4C is stamped on jack, does that mean its March 84 ?
Couple of shots of Mr Nazle and his yard?
Any ideas on location and restraint for the jack as my LX doesn't have the original bracket for Jack?

Yes the badge was a stick on to the side panel. I am not sure how you local Toyota parts dealer is over there but when I was looking for my LX badges I managed to track down a set which are genuine Toyota of a BJ73 (Bundera) which are identical to the 40 series one. I paid $38.98 AUD each for mine and just ordered them through Toyota. Part number is TO-7544160240. I think what Toyota did is when they released the Bundera in 1985 straight after the demise of the 40 series they must have realised they had a heap of the badges left over and called the Bundera an LX as well. As you can see from the pic my original 40 series LX badge is the top one and the one that I ordered is at the bottom.

Thanks, I'm enjoying my LX :)
And great to see another LX going to a good home, looks like you're making progress....but keep going it is so worth it. Not sure it was mentioned before but yours must be one of the very last ones made, mine is 02/84.
Shout if there is anything I can help with.

Not sure where you Euro lads get your jacks but yours is clearly for the Ruski market - it says ostorozhno which means 'cautiously'.

Thanks Gary, yes, the plate says 07/84. I note that you had the original jack holder, as I don't have the holder or the back seats, I am going to try and fix the jack somewhere between B pillar and wheel arch, want to keep the cargo area free. I assume the jack holder is no longer available as OEM?

I'm really not sure about availability of the jack holder....IIRC there was a post in my thread where someone wasn't able to find the part number, no idea if they found the part though.
On you thread, "Found it :) 58709A, at the bottom of this pic" will try local TO tomorrow, thanks again.

Thanks Cult,
I am guessing that it was imported via Russia etc for duties, import taxes relief etc. I bought it in Sierra Leone, West Africa, from a breaker that deals specifically with ex NGO (Charities) Toyota's trucks. The place is full of them over there, mostly 70 series, the NGO's flip them every few years or when they are moving on. It says TO land cruiser on decal and 4C but I reckon it came off a 70 series and 94 instead of 84. The bar brackets are off a 70 series. I am under no illusions that I have found a March 84 jack , bars etc, still quite happy with find, whole lot only set me back a few dollars and a case of beer ??
Few more pics of decal

I believe Oct 84 was the last month, you might even have the very last one , that would be something even the last 100 or 10 is a good brag ?
Anyway of finding out the number sequence ?

Bit of a find today, guys at the body shop found this in the glove box under a piece of carpet the PO must lined the inside with?
Got this guy in shot at last, bit camera shy, always hiding when I am there.
Still plenty to be done on the inside and back frame, but pleased with progress. Took Tom's (Lostnarbles) tip on board and put rim on apron hood latch catcher.
Top done in 033 and pleased with that choice. Having problems with the double bailey channel weatherstrip for the back sliders, will post issue and seek advice in following post.

Looks to me like you found a good panel&paint shop there..

Followed up on one of your tips re the hood catch hook on apron, now was the time to do it, new holes going in for hood catch as there were rubber latches on before?

Back Slider Window bailey channel problem:
Body shop sent me some photos of issue with bailey channel for rear sliders. I bought the BC from Rubber Online AU and it matches the code (64 -020) and dims (20mm width & 12 mm height) that I read on the excellent threads from Fokard , Dancar and others on this subject.
The photos scare me but will check it out in the morning for run width etc.
Question:
Surely all the slider runs/channels are the same width on the 42lx, 44 etc?
I note that the OEM BC had factory cuts for bends, how and can you do the same with this product ?
Is the BC held in by the centre ridge only or is glue used?

I am pretty sure , , I have have the right BC, hopefully I haven't got an oddball set up with the run/channel width ?

Appreciate some advise on this .

Thank you,
