So, I took the front stabilizer bar and links off completely and drive around a bit. No issues from a drive-ability perspective at this point. Honestly, the only way I'm getting that broken bolt out is removing/unhooking the leaf spring first. So, that's that for now. LOL I'll make a plan for that down the road, but for now, pretty happy with how it's riding. So, I greased up the shackles, put the gas tank skid back in, and put the front fascia lip back in.

Somehow I missed all the updates on your thread until now...

The truck has a 2" lift with aftermarket springs. That's why your swaybar links are too short.

As for the old shocks, the reason you can easily move them is they're not gas shocks but full hydraulic old school Ranchos. Probably not worn out just old.

When you installed the new shackles / pins / bushings did you grease them? I mean a LOT. Also if they're anything but rubber bushings the ride while be a little stiffer but less squishy. Having said that, we're talking 40 plus year old leaf spring tech here. Not like they're going to ride like Aunt Edna's Buick. And that's a good thing.

Hey Mark.

Thanks for the insights. I thought the springs were aftermarket, so glad to confirm my thinking. Definitely makes sense on the aftermarket springs and the sway bar links. I'll definitely plan for that if I put the sway bar back on.

I used poly bushings and I greased the Sh*t out of them. Definitely rides like a 40 year old pickup, but I've been happy with the refresh.

Any chance you know who makes the springs?

Nope but consider who made lift springs for 1982 Toyotas in the late 80s. Rancho, Skyjacker, etc. I doubt they're Downey.

Right on. Good call. Likely Rancho or Skyjacker.

Hey @pappy ... Any luck on those links?
YES!!! PM sent.

I sold this a few months ago, but have kept in touch with the guy who bought it. He put on 33's on vintage rims and added a sweet camper top. Thought I would share.
