I have a 1981 BJ44 for sale.

Truck is Right Hand Drive, with ~190k kilometers on it. It runs well and is registered in California, but has substantial rust.

I'm not an expert here, so will share what I know openly- and answer any questions the best I can. Will add photos soon.

I bought the truck 7 years ago from the guy who brought it over from Japan. It's been CA registered since I bought it.

It has a 2b motor, and a Turboglide turbo. New 31 inch tires and recently rebuilt front axle. I replaced both batteries recently- but have had issues with retaining their charge- so may need to bereplaced. Runs well and gets good mileage. Red exterior. Almost entirely original interior in good shape.

I planned to clean it up further and use it as my daily driver (it gets better mileage than my 4Runner). But the rust is worse than I expected, and I don't have the knowledge or time to deal with it right. I brought it to Gary at Mudrak in Sonoma- and his PoV was that the rust is bad- it's in the doors, cowell, fenders, hood. Basically everywhere. Will be a substantial project to fix, or candidate for a new tub. (Can't say I didn't warn you.)

I'm looking for $6k for it. I bought it for $10k then spent another $4k or so on work before realizing the extent of the rust. I'm open to talking about price- but plan B is to donate it to a charity - so please avoid low-ball offers.

Thanks for reading.
