Picked up a Hi Lift from a fellow MUDder. Basically new, just been sitting in the garage. Came with the off road base and a handle isolator. I plan to mount it to the inside of the bed rail or possibly across the header panel of the bed (near the cab). I'll snap some pics of the goodies this weekend.

Oh, and so it begins. This is the first of the crazy work days leading up to GSMTR.

You know it! I'm not going to do too much this weekend. I'm taking my Tacoma springs (all 3 sets) and an extra driveshaft for measuring purposes. I'm going to mock up the springs so I can see where my mounts need to be. And take a BUNCH of measurements. I need to buy/order the steel to make the rear bumper/spring hanger. Sometime in the next couple of weeks I'm going to order my Creeper joint shackle mounts for the back, sloped front hanger, and the banana shackles for the front springs. That should at least get me started. Then I'll be saving my pennies so I can get a high steer kit ordered. Then just some Iron Man shocks and I'll be in business! :wrench:

BUT, once I get all that done I still have to buy/assemble the doubler before I can do the driveshafts.

Edit: I need to work out a mount for the Hi Lift also. I really like the way that Mike has his on the 40. I might do something like that.

So I went and mocked up the Tacoma springs today. I think what I am going to do is use a long shackle on the back (probably 6") and move the front hanger forward. I'll need to order the sloped hangers since the front will be mounted on the flat part of the frame. I'm also going to go ahead and order the banana shackles for the front. Hopefully, I can go ahead and get the springs mounted up and measure for the shocks. I also mocked up where I am going to mount my hi lift. It's going to be pretty fantastic. I'll make sure and document.

And, YES, I am aware that this post is worthless without pics, BUT, I didn't take any. :hillbilly:

Not even a crappy cell phone picture, slacker!

Yep. I'll make sure to get some when I start working on the springs.

Also, for those that were interested, the Tacoma springs look to be almost bolt-on. They are the same width, but about 6" longer. It's going to be just like a Chevy spring swap except the Taco springs actually fit. :D

I effin hate it when the mobile app won't load pictures. I will look at it when I get home. I am working on a mount for my DD toolbox so interested to see what it looks like.

I took a couple more pics today. It's mostly finished. Now I just have to get my butt back up to ACC and get it mounted. :D

What app are you using? I have an iPhone 4S with the MUD app and it works fine for me. :meh:

More teaser pics!!!

Android app on a Droid Razr Maxx. I complained to Woody over in the Help forum but didn't get any resolution. Oh well... first world problem I guess. :crybaby:

Why does your corridor need a HiLift? ;)

That's totally a first world problem. My app isn't working on my smartphone so I have to get on my computer/laptop/tablet/etc.

You never know when the corridor might get a flat tire on trail 4 and need to change it...

I need to come up with a name for my mini. Any suggestions?

Bruce ;)

Anyway, now that I am on a real computer and can see the pictures, how are you going to mount the "mount" onto the truck? And are you making a pair of these, one for each end?

And I am using the android app on a Droid 4. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and now that I have googled what a "First world problem" is, I can agree.

I cannot divulge that information at this time, sir. You'll just have to wait and see.

There has actually been a lot of interest in these mounts. They may show up for sale in the near future...

Hater.... J/K will be following to see how it turns out.

Planning on having my shackles, sloped spring hangers, and banana shackles for the front by the 19th (next time I'm going to go work on the truck). I'll mount the hi lift then.

Anyone have a set of factory mirrors sitting around or know where to get some cheap aftermarket ones? I took the giant ones off my truck. I broke one with the hi lift and they were just asking to get ripped off anyway.
