1980 FJ40, $13,000 Located in Washington, MO. Outside St Louis. 56XXX miles. No rust repairs were ever done because there was none, with the exception on the inside of the firewall above the brake pedal there's some surface rust where the master cylinder leaked at one time.

It's in great condition. Runs like a top. Body is original. Unfortunately, the PO primed the body because there was a dent on the passenger side rear corner that he had a body shop repair and he had them prime the body. You can look underneath and see the floors and original. I actually like the color. It has original documented miles. The only thing wrong is the speedo bounces, and the odometer needs to be lubricated since it sat for 3 years at the PO's house, and another year at my house. The undercarriage is in excellent condition. The PO touched up the axles, and frame. It could use some more to preserve what's there. It has a Safari 4+ suspension with greaseable shakles. I dumped the white wagons and 33x12.5 it came with and put the original rims and hubcabs back on as shown in the recent photo's.

Here are the photo's with the hard top on. It has the original paint. https://forum.ih8mud.com/mo-gateway-cruisers/235150-ok-wfd175-lets-see-some-pics-new-toy.html

I'll assist with shipping, and I'll be bringing it to GATOR at SMORRin September if anyone wants to take it off my hands.

It is what it is. I have the original service records when it was a sheriff's dept vehicle. It was confiscated by the FBI in arkansas from a "military" group and given to the local sheriff's office. You could either paint it or run it as is. As mudders who have seen it and driven it, they can attest for it's condition.

Both the wife and I are in the civil engineering field. Mainly commercial and municipal.

I searched for years for a 40, took a ebay chance on it being as advertised. Fortunately it was.

So where are the emblems or even the holes for the emblems on the passenger rear? When you said "primed", did you mean bondo'd?

Please re-read post #1 with respect to the dent repair to the pasenger side corner which was done. I'm no body person, but I think applying body filler is part of the process in dent repair. The bottom emblem holes are visible from inside the wheel well, along with the probably 1980's vintage Ziebart applied undercoating, they were just skimmed over during the repair. Infact there's some gray filler oozing in the holes.

(For full disclosure, wfd175 is a good friend of mine.)
I've spent quite a bit of time around this 40 and will testify that it's a very solid truck. The dent repair mentioned above is the only place I've ever been able to find evidence of any body work and even that area is pretty minor. The underside has the look of a truck that's never really had any rust issues. It's been a few months since I drove it but I didn't notice any issues mechanically and it reflects only having 55K miles. I've been telling wfd175 he's nuts for not investing in a quality paint job and then asking significantly more for it.

Some of the photo's requested are undercarriage, shots with the roof on. Which is back on now, and generally better than camer phone photo's.
