Received the or an air box today. it was represented as a 1975 FJ40 Air box. Until I removed the AFI throttle body ( when I return from vacation), I'll know better.

Plan to use naval jelly and a wire brush to clean it up.

comments and/or suggestions welcome.

.

is this your OEM Linkage set-up now on your FJ40 Brian ?
Unfortunately not. As of today - I have from the firewall to the carb.

So as of now. I have three ways to cobble in a cable from the peddle.

If you have a solution to use a cable to the carb - love to hear it.

If you have a peddle to the firewall- would love to hear that too.

Suggestions appreciated.

No cable from like '73 and newer.
Have a call into him. We spoke about a week ago, and looking forward to talking again to get the ball rolling. I think I understand the issue better than I did a few weeks ago.
+1 for the 2F/3F vac. advance dizzy 19100-61180. Swapped out the stock vacuum retard distributor on my '76 with this and it runs like a top. OEM all the way!
Ok T
Thanks Mark
a call back would of been good.
being I just stumbled onto this thread.
It will be Wednesday next week before I can get back to you. I basically got bushwhacked with work at the beginning of the week like hasn’t happened for a while.

Long story short: it will be after Memorial weekend before I can start building you the composite carburetor we discussed.

From Post #12 and #20, it looks like you’ve already got a carb and linkage inbound, so I’m not sure what you’re after at this point?

Are you working with @RodrigzCrzr , because he left a voicemail for the same year carb shortly after yours, and since he’s between you and me, I thought they might be related inquiries? Jorge, the answer’s the same: nothing until after the holiday.

So awesome. Engine bay Gromit?

I pray that the AFI firewall modification was minimal.

My Green machine is running again. Thank you for your input.

Really appreciate the venders and members on this site for your help.

Carburetor ( City Racer ) installed with some awesome Linkage from @ToyotaMatt . Fuel pump and other items from Cruiserteq ( really appreciate your guidance and help.

Oh - and a new distributor. :)

The Land Cruiser is running better than ever ( only have had her a few months).

And - I gave up on setting the dwell. Just going with a .018 air gap.
