Oh boy .. Now i've got my stuff into it. I thought that cable was factory. Now ... I'm not thinking so.

I don't see a cable in your rig .. I looks like I need more hardware or some form of workaround.

suggestions are welcome.

Give Mark a call at “Marks off Road” @65swb45 for linkage/carb pieces/parts. Located in Burbank. You’re about 60miles from his shop as the crow flys.

We have spoken. Linkage kit was available with the purchase of a carb.

I have spoken.
FIFY..

If I lived in Sunny Cali, I’d be sweeping up the floors for “pro-tips” and the occasional libation. 😁☝️

If I had a choice, I would opt for a mechanically operated secondary, like on my 10/'73, as opposed to the vacuum operated secondary on the later carbs.
The vacuum diaphragm is just one more thing to fail, search "Paperclip test". The mechanical secondary linkage is simple, robust and adjustable.

It will be Wednesday next week before I can get back to you. I basically got bushwhacked with work at the beginning of the week like hasn’t happened for a while.

Long story short: it will be after Memorial weekend before I can start building you the composite carburetor we discussed.

From Post #12 and #20, it looks like you’ve already got a carb and linkage inbound, so I’m not sure what you’re after at this point?

Are you working with @RodrigzCrzr , because he left a voicemail for the same year carb shortly after yours, and since he’s between you and me, I thought they might be related inquiries? Jorge, the answer’s the same: nothing until after the holiday.

Leaving for Europe in the 15th. No pressure.

I want yours and the store bought one will be a back up.

Having a disabled vehicle is not an option for me.

Having backups for a truck that I will enjoy for the next 20 years ( hopefully I’m till driving in my 80’s). Is my plan.

As I get into this project. I need figure out how to get from my floorboard to the carburetor. That may also add to timing. I may look for other temporary solutions to get the distributor installed and running before I can actually get your carb installed.

Look forward to our next chat.

Ok T
Thanks Mark
a call back would of been good.
being I just stumbled onto this thread.

Big thanks to Coolerman, CityRacer, CruiserTeq, Red Line and spector for being just flat out awesome.

Coolman, you parts are even more precious as you actually make this stuff, thank you!

@65swb45 - also, I don't need my rig to be a museum piece. Looking for Function. if there is a clean way to use the accelerator cable or an accelerator cable, I am open to any solution.

Have a call into him. We spoke about a week ago, and looking forward to talking again to get the ball rolling. I think I understand the issue better than I did a few weeks ago.
