I’m replacing the soft brake lines on my FJ40. The frame is a 1974. There is a tab that bolts to the frame where the brake line converts from the hard line from the master cylinder to the first of the soft lines. Currently the tab is mounted forward of the engine mount. But this has always seemed to me to bring the soft line very close to rubbing on the engine mount bracket. I see a similar sized bolt hole behind the mount (closer to the master) that would alleviate this. Perhaps mine was changed once?
So my question is: does the hard line from the front brake master route in front or behind the engine mount?
