Wow nice find! Those seatbelt placements in between the b and c pillars, and the one that is above cargo window look very odd. I don't doubt that they came from the dealer like that but I haven't seen another FJ55 with them. My retractable front belts are directly in line on the b pillar, and same with my adjustable rear seat belts which are on the c pillar (1978 model). btw if you ever want to let your front bench go let me know!

My US 1973 fj55 has the brackets for shoulder belts on the b pillar but no belt attached. It does have lap belts but I don't see how the shoulder belts would have attached...

Really? Could you post a pic of the mount?

Here are some pics of my shoulder belt mount. These are behind the b pillar and I would assume all pigs have a threaded hole there... Unless mine was not purchased in the us or something... The last picture is a rubber cover that fits over. Notice the TEQ logo:)

Thanks. I read your earlier post to mean the mounts were ON the B pillar, not behind them. This is the same mount I have in my Piggy.

Just the lens will get me out of trouble. A whole reverse light or even pair of reverse lights would be even better as I can then restore the lights and refit them. I want to get all the housings blasted and re-coated plus polish up the lenses. So a spare set means I can do that and not take the 55 off the road. But in terms of missing bits, that lens is the only part I need to get it through a rego inspection.

Mate, jump on gumtree, there are a couple of people wrecking 55 series. From the photos, they have the lights/lenses you require.

Thanks for the great belt pics. I am getting ready to install over the shoulder upgrades to my 55 and the points where yours are installed.

Great thread.

Time for a "Minor" update

The brakes on the FJ were completely poked, literally all of it bar some of the lines needed to be replaced. So the rears got new drums, new shoes and new wheel cylinders.

In the engine bay a replacement used booster got a lick of paint and a New Master Cylinder has been fitted. The front end being drums didn't sit well with me. So I shelled out large for what was supposed to be a factory FJ55 disc front end in "bolt in" and "ready to use" condition. Needless to say this part has not gone well. A month and almost $2k later it is almost fitted.

I have a thread in FJ55 tech for any assistance with getting it sorted.
