I have a 1970 FJ55 which has been in my garage for about 5 years - Originally, I had planned to do a body-off restoration, however after evaluating the vehicle condition I've realized I don't have time to take on this project. Now my wife is pissed that it's sitting in the garage. :)

There is rust in all the usual places (e.g. - lower fenders, bottom of doors) and it needs a new roof/gutters & a couple floor panes replaced, etc... (yeah, it's in tough shape. See the pictures for the worst of it!)

I drove the vehicle to my house and it ran great, but at this point it's not drivable. I've ripped out the interior, most dash components, and steering assemblies in prep for restoration. All glass is in decent shape, but removed from the vehicle. Originally, there was a PTO winch, but my father-in-law already stole that for his FJ45! I also have an extra head, 2 pumpkins, and a transfer case.

Along with the vehicle, I have a bunch of extra parts, dash components, and about $1300 in parts purchased in 2008 from SOR, including: Seat upholstery kits (front and back), brake cylinders/shoes (front & back), carb rebuild kit, body bushings.

I'm not interested in parting it out, it's take-all-or-nothing. I don't really know what it's worth, so I won't list a price. Just make me an offer. I'd be interested in some maple hardwood for raised panel doors or other interesting trades also.

I would be interested in seat covers, brake components and body mounts if you decide to sell anything separately. Also, forum rules state that you must post a price. You should be able to get a pretty good idea on value based on what things have sold for in the past here on the forum. If you have the time, parting it out will probably net you more cash. Hope that helps.

No-parting out

I would like to get 1000 to cover the cost of SOR parts which are included, but I will not part-out the vehicle. Aside from the rust spots, everything work(ed) great - It should be restored, not cut up.

The roof is a tough one - I had planned to put a canvas slider in the center (80"x36"). Apparently, an econoline van roof is easily modified to replace the original FJ55 roof. I know one guy who will be doing it in the near future. Perhaps, he will post pictures.

It's rusted through on the inner, but the outer seemed in fair shape.

hey delancy, that's what I need, the outer skin. Mine is not rusted but is dented to all heck, I tried to pull it out and it went badly. I think the best solution is to just graft in a new piece. sent u pm.
