1970 FJ55 Land Cruiser – “Iron Pig”
This is solid FJ55. It is ready for someone to restore it or do a little work to it and have a project that you can drive while you work on it. I have too many projects and need to pay some bills. I thought I would offer it here before I put it up on Facebook. I am going to share everything I know about it, but feel free to message me if you have any questions. GOOD
- 1970 FJ55 Land Cruiser
- This is a 99% COMPLETE and all original truck. It has not been hacked up, modified, or messed with.
- I bought it off a MUD member three years ago.
- I have been acuminating lots of parts for a restoration and upgrade.
- BRAND NEW front windshield and seal.
- Brand new slave clutch master cylinder
- Brand new HEI distributor
- The 1F motor runs. (See video below)
- The body is in good shape.
- Front floor pans, rockers, and quarter panels are all solid.
- No rust in the wheel wells, quarter panels, or doors.
- Frame and underside are rock solid… surface rust only.
- I have two replacement fenders that are in much better shape and are included.
- I also have two replacement fender aprons that are perfectly straight, rust free, and included.
- I have all the headliner bows.
- I have a key that works in the ignition and in all the doors locks and back window.
- All door locks and mechanisms work.
- All the glass is in good shape.
- All door windows roll up and down.
- All the doors are solid and are 99% rust free. (see below on passenger door hinge)
- I have the rear glass and lower channel.
- All of the back glass mechanism is there and ready to install the glass.
- Tailgate is solid and opens and closes perfectly.
- I have more extra parts available for an additional price (see below)
NOT AS GOOD (but all very fixable)
- It is a solid truck but does have some rust in the second-row floor pan.
- There are some dents in the bottom of the rear quarter panels and rockers.
- Surface rust on the roof top and a couple small holes in two of the top corners.
- It still needs a rear bumper. (I have a front bumper for it)
- Passenger side door has the typical FJ55 lower hinge damage that causes the door to sag badly.
- Driver side door has a dent from opening too far.
- Dash pad is in bad shape.
- It still needs a new clutch master and brake master cylinder (I have a replacement booster).
- Radiator has a leak, but I have a good replacement.
- I do NOT have a title. (Georgia has a process for getting one and I can get one for an additional fee.)
- Not the original front seats, but they are Toyota (1970’s Celica I think.)

- 4 Speed Transmission and Transfer Case out of a 1984 FJ60
- Disk Brake axle out of a 1977 FJ40
- Rubber floor mats for FJ55 that are a 9/10. Will look brand new with a little clean up.
