This is my first post. Bought this few months ago as is. Haven't really done anything to it yet. Still trying to figure out what all was done to it. I know it has disk breaks in the rear. Not sure if these are fj40 axles. Just signed up here so figured I'd post some pictures. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Welcome to the site. Rear brakes are GM calipers mounted to aftermarket bracket, disc's are Chevy with the center opened up to fit the Toyota axle. Power is curtesy of fuel injected SBC, I sure you already know this. Good luck on sorting everything out.

Welcome to mud. His description looks accurate. Lockers and longfields:). AA bellhousing. You probably should put a t/case saver on it. It's probably not a highway cruiser with 5.29's. Looks like a good starting point.

Lots of frame flex on the 40-Cruiser on the hood of that car, based on the 40's hood being kinda off. Is that from the power-steering box up front?
I used to make my '73 unhook a hood-latch when off-pavement wheeling. The later hoods have a spring loaded hook-latch on the front bib, just to keep you a bit more safe from it the hood-latches coming undone when windy. It probably could fit on an earlier model with a bit of modification.

Oh yeah not very road worthy right now. Even with the 36in iroks. I was thinking about going up to 40s or going to 4.11 gear. Not far off In price. I need more info about the master kits for the gear. Would the bobby longs be the older kit or the newer ?

The power steering box is right behind the front bumper on the driver side. Is that common?

Yes. Can we see how the steering box and the frame's front cross-member interface? There are usually rubber spacers that support the hood on the front bib, they pre-load the springs inside the hood-hooks.
Also, is the battery-tray mounted on the fender or firewall?
