I have read multiple posts regarding routing a charcoal canister and cannot find what I am looking for. I have a 1970 FJ40 and installing a fully desmogged 1981 2F. It appears that I should install a charcoal canister to eliminate any gas smell. Since my 1970 tank does not include a vent for a fuel separator where would I hook up the charcoal canister line? The only outlet on the tank is on the neck. Is that where I should connect the canister?

Where would you hook it up on the 81? Adding a port to the top of a tank isn't all that hard.

Is there a write up anywhere on installing the charcoal canister on an 1981 2F with an early gas tank? I have searched with no luck.

Changing to a seal system with fumes going to a charcoal canister probably want a non vented gas cap and seal the hole in fuel fill neck.
