Surprised they did not put the weights on the inside fo the rim also (asstetics)? With the offset they could also use the sticky weights on the inner flat part of the rim.

They did, there are almost as many weights on the inside of that rim. There on the oposite end of the rim though. Needed to be on both sides to compensate for the bent rim(s).

Needless to say, I need to find some straighter welded rims, blast them up again, powder coat and mount my new tires on those. :frown:

Again, Bueller.....Bueller.......anyone...anyone....

Figured I better post a couple pics of some progress. :)

Got home a little late tonight, but managed to get out in the booth to get a couple things done. I had ordered up a new TRE kit a week or so ago, also had the one from the saginaw kit. Had the saginaw steering sector and a couple other parts that didn't make the powder coat oven.

Got everything hung up, DX330'd, DP90LF and topcoated with MTK single stage. Should be dry by tomorrow.

I have to work all weekend, so not a whole lot will happen, but I will still plug away in the evening if possible.

I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I figure I better mention it again anyway.....I want my springs :frown:

I start to worry if a few days go by and I don't do anything or post any progress on the thread. I am concerned that others might label me a slacker or lazy, therefore I figured I better get some s*** done tonight.

Got all my TRE and rods threaded together and snuggly mounted onto the axle, along with the saginaw rod and TRE. Also got the brake calipers on with new pins and wires, brake lines installed, pretty much front axle done.

Got the front bump stops on. Mounted the radiator core support, although that was only 2 bolts and has to come off for the drive train to be installed again. Just wanted to get it out of my way and look at it on there :)

Put all the front triangular bumper brackets on the front and tow hooks, slightly snug. Put the saginaw sector on, that may or may not have to come off, but again, on the vehicle where it can't get lost or damaged.

Put a couple body mounts on the back, just wanted to see what they look like. If my felt shows up tomorrow from MSC, which it should, I should be able to get the fuel tank and all straps installed, and possibly the fuel tank shield.

If that happens tomorrow with the fuel tank I am pretty much out of painted or powercoated parts to put back on the frame.

I NEED SPRINGS

Although I've probably mentioned that ;)

Doesn't look like it's going to happen for the weekend, last time I talked to Bill at GBR today he said they weren't there. If they do show up tomorrow and he can ship them there is a chance if they go out Fed Ex ground tomorrow to my residence, I might have them Saturday, we'll see

If I don't get those springs, I might just have to start on the body :)

What body mounts are you using? Is there an lv kit, or did you get two 40 kits or...?

I just have 1 - 40 kit for now. I think that will do it, I believe there were 12 mounting points on the Lv body also. Althought I can't remember exactly, I'll figure that out for sure once I start on the body, clean/blast it and can figure everything out.

Although the LV body doesn't use all the mounts in the "C" form. Several of them will have to be cut in half and used as pads/spacers. The bolt went through the frame on several mounts, with no body mount below the frame. I hope I made that understandable?

Rotisserri plans

I didn't plan on posting this, but I've had 2 fellow mudders email me about this. So I figured if 2 people are interested there might be more.

I whipped this up using Microsoft paint very quickly for the first guy that emailed me, so it might not be the greatest to understand

If someone is interested and has a problem understanding it, let me know and I will try to clarify it or change it.

Got my felt today from MSC. If I didn't know any better I would say it is exactly what came out of there, absolutely perfect.

I went up to the local craft store and bought a pkg. of those little brass things, they were what held it in. Hopefully should be able to get my tank and a few other misc. things in tonight.

Treeroot/Mike - Do you have any close up shots of the tank, shield and other parts on the ass end there? When we/I was taking this apart my buddy Chad was disassembling the tank and other parts, want to make sure it goes back together correctly? I'm sure I can figure it out, but I don't have a clear mental picture of it.

Thanks, Matt

I think I figured out the fuel tank chub. So Mike if you took some pics, please still post them, would still like to make sure I'm right?

I do have another request for a pic(s) and some instruction.

Pic below 2 larger brackets, where? I know in the rear somewhere, but my buddy took them off and can't get a hold of him?

The smaller bracket goes on the right rear side of the frame. It holds the hard brake line and connects it to the soft line. I've got a couple holes back there and I can't figured out which one to put it in? (Ok, that didn't sound good).

Thanks, Matt

I don't have a 67 and my 66 is a little hard to get to. You have the second generation tank like the later 66s have. This tank is the 65 so it is slightly different.
