If it were closer I'd probably jump on it myself.

" 1966 FJ45 Land Cruiser - $2800 (sonoma)
1966 Toyota Land Cruiser

1966 FJ45 long bed truck for sale. It is a rusty mess! It has no motor, or tranny in it right now. I do have a F135 motor/tranny/tcase that could go be added for $400, has a the super rare Offenhauser dual carb gas sucking set up on it. The bed has the tailgate and stock 45 rollbar/lumber holder bar. The floor is completely rotted out of the bed. The floors in the cab have some rust through. The roof has rust through. Frame looks solid. No title, but frame number matches vin tag and the vin tag has the round brass tag stamped with 66. I think the truck is an early '65 production. I am fairly firm on the price as I know that TLC4x4 will by it just for the frame.

I am working a ton this week and will be out of town after 2pm Friday, back Sunday night. So I am around the next few mornings. I can text pics now. I will try and upload pics tonight when I get home. The motor is on a pallet and I have a forklift to load. Bring a trailer and get a new project for winter!

This. Would be too tempting if local. And kudos to the seller being honest in his ad about the rust. For someone with the right skills, could be a awesome project. Hope a Mudder snags it.

It just so happens im an hour away!! If someone seriously wants to buy this I can go get it and store it for them! Let me know soon as it should sell pretty quick!
Shot you an email....:steer:

Didn't know someone posted it here as well. I just got the same photos from him, and I'm also just an hour away. Showed pics to a body guy I know, and he says its got a lot of rust. Still debating as I've got too many projects already. This is the second one i've seen for around this price. Hmm . . .

i know the seller- he has another 45 and 40 . floor in bed is non existent. lots of rust.

He was offered $3500 for the frame from TLC4x4 if he could get it regd. but just doesnt want to deal with dmv hassles....

The inside line is:

he is looking for an fj55.......so if you have one in descent shape you could probably get this free

Tim, I believe you have a 55! Get it! :hillbilly:

Thanks for posting the link to the add. Not sure how I feel about my phone number being posted up on the internet... but what kind of really pervy bad people lurk in the shadows of the 45 Cruiser Classifieds section anyway?

Anybody have any questions please give me a call or an email. it is rusty! If Somebody wanted to build up something along the lines of Rob's rusty 45 wagon this would be a good project. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I would get your Tetanus booster up to date, make sure your local clinic has hantavirus vaccine at the ready, and get your divorce lawyer on retainer because when your wife sees this rusty hunk of truck you will probably be curling up in the empty cab. If nobody picks it up before the rains start in a few weeks then it is getting towed into the warehouse where I will start on it. Help me save me from myself!
Nick

I do not get on Mud much, so don't get angry when 7 months guys by and I get around to responding to your PM

And the wheels have to be worth a fortune on their own, best of the 70's right there! Bed cap not included btw

I did body work for 2 years on my tan 45. Of course I am slow, have a family, run a small company, etc etc, but that s*** took forever. Part of me wants to tackle this 45 just for the challenge!

I'll try and post up when it sells if it does.

Sorry bout that Nick, I deleted your number out.

No problem, and thanks for taking my number down. The old rusty truck found a new home yesterday. I wouldn't expect to see a rebuild thread on here, but it did go to a guy with multiple cruiser and some serious fab skills. i talked with a bunch of people. It got to the point where i did most of the question asking. Question 1 being, can you weld? This guy is a professional welder and fabricator, so maybe it will be back on the road in some form.
