Also finished up the wiring for the 700r4 Lockup. Swich and indicator panel mounted to left of column under key switch. I have 3 modes available, no lockup, lockup 4th only, and lockup 2, 3 and 4.

Quick question for you. Your fenders have the 3 holes for the newer style signal lights. I want to use the roud lights as you have done. Does the base cover the 2 smaller holes on the sides of the main mounting hole?

Great build by the way your an insperation!

the short answer is yes.

I overlooked the differences in the fenders and only realized it after painting. I was glad to find that the round turn signals covered the holes. Only one of my fenders had the 3 holes. other one was original fj45 with single hole. the 3 hole fender came from a 69 fj40. seemed like an oem unit. don't know all differences and if there are other years with 3 holes that might be spaced further apart.

Hot dam ordering fenders tomorrow!!! Thanks guys i was a little concerned as i want the round lights on my 77 tee hee

Started the engine this weekend. Seems to run good. Didn't run it long - spent most of my time tracking down and fixing leaks...

Getting close, Had a chance to spin it around the block yet.
Not yet. Still trying to flush out a couple of leaks. Will need to pick up another temp sending unit adapter. for some reason, can't get the one I have to stop leaking once the coolant is up to operating temp and pressure. have tried to seal It three times so Its time to start with another one. Also have a brake line that's weeping fluid Overnight. have to finish up the shifter linkage and get the rear bumper and lights reinstall after paint.

Looks so good!

That's why before and after pictures are so good-they remind you how much you have done and how much better it looks + gives you motivation to continue. That is sweet!

Rear shot. I plan to paint the tailgate letters. Thought someone was selling stick on letters but can't seem to find them now.

May i ask you a question for my own education. the 700r4 lockup.. What does that gain and or take away by being able to do that.. I have a 700r4 in my wagon with a toybox.. and if i don't lock it in a gear after reversing it'll fly thru the gears in low.. something like what you did might help with that? and homebrew wiring system or off the shelf..
