Hi John

b) no ( but`s fine ) see pic

I agree with both a fine on this early cruiser and the glass. I guess I should of said that of the five rear hatches I have only one has the extra glass but don't think it was original. I've seen on other cruiser too, think they were added to help with the poor vision out of the high little stock window.

I have not seen one original sales brochure with two windows on the bi-fold...but I agree that it must help!!! The funny thing is that there is a recess in the bottom panel as if a second window SHOULD be there.

Mike, what did you use for the short running board matts? I looked around, but can't seem to get anything that looks stock :frown:

Hi John
a ) yes :) ( great job Mike )
b) no ( but`s fine ) see pic

c) Mike, I would spray the rear bumper bolts in car colour ;)

again : Great resto !!!!!!

Cheers
Peter

Wow.... I've just assumed that mine was stock. And yes I've got to cover up all those stainless bolts.

Thanks, Mike

Did you finish it off with some OEM decals from shane like the engine adjust, f135, oil bath cleaner.

You've done an awsome job on your truck, I really like it well done.

I found a discussion thread that referenced this Pyramid Vinyl Matting that I ordered. I'll upload a photo later today.

Hi Mike, thanks for the link!! Can't wait to a close up picture when you get a chance. I am working on that taillight this week-end, and should have something to show next week...that is as long as no one drops in ;)

1962 FJ40 Hard Doors

Nice Job on the 62', I have one that was handed down to me by my Dad and its been in the family for 37yrs. But my question is do you have any pics showing the restore on the doors?? I have the original doors for mine and want to get them back on the Cruiser. They fit so much nicer than the newer style doors with the window reg. I'm missing all of the pieces that are used to latch the window up and down. I have been searching for some time to get info so I can start working on them. I also need to know where I can find the correct parts and schematics to do the restore. Seeing yours just makes me want to start in on mine that much more!! I'm on facebook if you want to look me up there. I have a few pics posted of my FJ40 on there too!
THANKS in advance for your help!

POst up some photos :)D

We love photos here :)

Finding parts for these is going to be tuff. Plus getting pictures of the inside of the door is hard. I have the the 62 FSM but the diagrams in there are pretty lame. I have the 62 FJ40 micrifiche too. I think the parts diagram was better than the FSM. I look at my FJ25 parts book and see what is in there, those were the same doors. Not sure what later doors your trying make work but the early with a window regulator and bug catcher vent windows should be a perfect fit. You could always find someone local to let you looks at the slide system. I use to live in Phoenix but have since moved. I now live in Peoria:rolleyes:

Beautiful resto on the '62.

Here are a few pics of my 62' and door

Hey guys here are a few pics of my FJ40 and the doors I'm trying to restore. I also was trying to post one from 1975 but I have to change the format of the pic.
Had to delete a few pics so I could start my thread and become a Member for more pics.
