Finished the install, went smoother than I expected. The wiring was easy, you can see the deleted blue wire from AM1 and added the red 1/0 gauge cable, MegaFuse, and holder. I hope to get the output amperage of it tested this week or next.

Hey I get 2 alternators for the price of 1 out of the deal if they packed it in :)

I am very interested in the results as well. You've left everyone hanging!

I'll try to get it tested next week, the schools auto shop has been busy.

Be careful with that amount of dielectric grease on your connections. That stuff is my saving grace. I use it on all of my snow plow trucks and their corresponding electrical connections but.. If over applied can cause current to flow to areas you don't want it to. In a multi pin connection I like to clean the excess so it doesn't go where it isn't supposed to.

And yes it's not supposed to but I've had water mix with it while plowing snow and it has blown a few solenoids

Update?

Can't you just go to Sears or somewhere for free and get your alternator tested?

Well the auto teacher has the testing machine I will try to get it in next week since school is ending soon.

any progress on this alternator. I'm thinking ordering one. is it worth the money? thanks

No

Why not just go and buy the Sequoia 150 alternator? Bolts straight in, minor adjuster bracket mod and of course you should be upgrading the cabling from alternator to battery.

IME most 'upgraded' alternators are not worth the time and trouble, I have seen so many claims of this and that outputs it would make your hair curl, buying an OE unit is IMO the only way to go.......period.

Dave
