mud member photoman "Bill" makes a bracket and pulley for the 150A toyo alt. I just bought the bracket, the pulley is smaller than stock and like any large alt they produce less amps at slow speed than smaller ones. The pulley does make squeezing it in. All in all after alt bracket and rebuild kit from Beno it was less than $135. Sourced the alt off fleabay for like $50, bracket for $60 and $15 for the rebuild kit.

what is the"minor adjuster bracket mod"

On the diesel I had to alter the angle my adjuster worked, IIRC the petrol versions may not even need any mod, the Sequoia alternator pretty much bolting straight in, there is someone on MUD who has done this mod on a petrol version.. Have a flick through my LC thread in my sig, you will see my pictures and there is the post of the other poster so you can track down his build..

regards

Dave

Well what am i to believe, the company that builds them, claims to me that it WILL put out 160amps at 13.7v. I am not an engineer and sometimes I can do all the research in the world and not know what you know. Some of us have to trust what companies say since we are not engineers. You keep telling me in a sense I am stupid from buying this. Its not your issue until you buy one, install and test it, otherwise I don't understand why you are so concerned with what I do. It's not a big deal I am just explaining in this thread my experience with this install. If I am wrong about this than Oh'Well I will eat my digital words. An you continue to say i mislead people. This is false. I am just quoting what I was told over the phone. I have no way of proving any of the companies claims until i have it tested on the truck. I claim that broccoli tastes good but others may try it and not like it. Did I mislead them? No they tried it for themselves. I am doing a review on my experience, whats wrong with that? I thought that is what this forum was about? I Admit you are smarter with alternators than I am, is that what you want to hear? Then I said it.
I just ordered an alternator from these guys then I decided to search them here and found your thread. How has the alternator held up? Did you ever test its full output capability?

More searching uncovered more discussions about ACE alternators. Two different ACE companies exist 108 miles apart in the LA area. The ACE in Yucca valley made it clear to me that they are not selling on eBay. I was impressed by their 2 year warranty. I read posts from different participants who were getting the two mixed up. I realize this is an old thread but I am looking for a verdict on the ACE alternator from Yucca Valley, CA before I send money.
