I'm just thinking. It may be dumb and overkill, but I like to tinker and I can't touch my trucks or tools while TDY.

So the idea is to graft 14b spindles onto 80-spindle flanges and use slimmed down C&C hubs with 6-lugs. Maybe build drive flanges or rework locking hubs to use stock 80 stub shafts.

Why? Why not.

What would you net with this other than a axle shaft that would be a one off unit. The 80 series FF units are fairly robust.

It won't really be any stronger than a stock 80 series axle with upgraded hub studs...

Are you going to jump this truck?

What about just putting a whole 14bolt in instead? If you have to tinker then shave and narrow it.

Seems like you'd be miles ahead this way.
