Hey everyone, I’m rebuilding my ‘88 13BT and the machine shop is asking for the valve recession spec. I can’t find anything in the service manual. Anyone have this info.

I don't have this info, but I did rebuild my 13BT 2 years ago.

My machine shop just figured it out and I don't know how, but I imagine the combination of valve seat/valve height, head height, block/piston/liner protrusion will get it setup right. Along with 30 years of diesel experience.

I gave my shop a copy of the Factory Manual for 13BT so I'm not sure.

Hi, so the shop called some secret automotive engineering society and got the spec. I’ll post it here for all to see.
13BT valve recession,
Intake .035”-.053”
Exhaust .035”- .053”

Those numbers stick in my head that my machine shop said. I have them written down somewhere I think.
