Hi all,

Just hoping to get some opinions about an engine I might prchase...

The compression ranges from 360, 380, 380, 360

spec is between 427 max and 284 min, w/28 psi max difference between. How does
360-380 sound to folks familiar with this engine type? Any concerns? Apparently the thing runs well, has good pep and not much smoke...although I can't confirm yet.
Oh yeah, it's from a 1986 bj71.

Sorry if this is vague

Thanks for any input

The thing that leaves some question in my mind is that the B series manual gives a spec of 427psi for both motors BUT the the 3B uses high compression piston for 20:1 compression ratio and the 13B-T uses a low compresion piston for 17.6:1 ratio on the same crank.. how can that translate into the same Compression PSI spec..

Anyone?

Maybe start a Land Cruiser Factory Service Manual tech forum...sorry just a bad joke

Actually, that may not be a bad joke at all...

Some FSM's have 2.8lbs listed as the allowable difference between cylinders. The factory manual drawing of the 12V center tap for headlights on 24V Canadian spec cruisers is also not completely accurarate, nor correct.

All in all however, the FSM's are a wonderful tool to have.

Regards
