ACC 12HT Diesel FJ60 Project

So this truck started as an 87 FJ60 and the plan was to install a 12HT H55 and split case.

We also repainted the truck in a 200 series Charcoal Metallic. This is how the truck arrived .

The engine was sourced by the customer so don't ask where it came from because I don't know. Once it arrived here we had it completely rebuilt from top to bottom.

the Trans is a New H55 from Mr Toyota and we rebuilt the stock case before reinstalling it onto the trans.

This is the engine fresh back from the rebuild before we started reinstalling all of the Powder Coated (SGPowder.com) parts.

Most of the parts came from Toyota and the owner supplied a "rebuild kit" that came w/ Pistons, Rings, Bearings etc. The cam, that was in the engine was trash so we were able to get new springs and Lifters from Toyota locally but the Cam had to be sourced from the other side of the world.

New Paint.... 200 series Charcoal Metallic. We had the entire truck painted, jammed and the engine compartment was also sprayed. We had some non US sliding windows installed at the same time.

New Trans and T-case.... new from Toyota H55 w/ a newly rebuilt and Powder Coated case.

New Engine...

Everything on this engine is Powder Coated except for the Engine Block and the Turbo itself. (SGPowder.com)

We really only used three colors. Most of the Aluminum was just sandblasted bare and clear coated. All of the acc brackets and such are a mirror black.

The intake runners have powder laid into the "Toyota and Turbo" and covered in clear.

The red "anodized" pieces have a chrome powder base coat w/ a red transparent anodized red overlay.

All of the heat shields for the exhaust and turbo are a high temp Black Metallic powder as well.

as always, Michael...outstanding work! I need to shoot you an email or call you and start getting my arms around an H55 and engine ideas. Great work!

This is a shot w/ the drivetrain in the truck. We had to torch off the stock 2F mounts and replace them w/ the correct 12ht mounts. We also got the correct radiator and shroud w/ the engine so the cooling system should be easy as can be.

I have been able to get a lot of work done on this truck lately. Its almost time for fluids but I have a few items to finish before it is time to start it. Either way its time for an update.

The motor mounts are fully welded in and the engine is in for the last time. The mounts are all factory HJ61 parts that were supplied with the engine.

I also was able to use a FJ62 power steering pressure hose with a little modification. I still need a reservoir but that should be easy.

So as you can see I was able to get a lot knocked out:

Brake and Clutch hard lines installed
Brake Booster, New Master, and Prop vlv installed
New Clutch Master installed
Carb / Turbo fan installed

Radiator, Shroud, overflow installed. The cooling system is finished short of a few heater hoses. I was able to get new HJ60 hoses from Toyota for the radiator.

Battery Trays (PS waiting for AC hose) installed

AC Condenser and drier installed and I'm picking up the AC lines today so it will be finished today hopefully, short of charging.

Headlights, horns, wiper motor, firewall covers, heater valve, Air box.

Very nice work ya'll. Will it be a local rig? If so bring it to a club meeting when it's complete.
