Is there any weight difference between the steel wheels and the stock wheels? I like the look of them, just curious if they're much heavier.

I would imagine that their heavier, but I can't really tell that much of a difference personally.

^^^ Nice!

Our Gobi ladder finally came in and then I installed it! Seems pretty solid so far.

a quick shot of how our mule GX looks before the bumper build is complete:

and here's a couple during the winch bumper build:

We actually got the driver side almost entirely tacked into place and we hope to have the whole thing at least tacked together by next weekend. It's constructed of all 1/4" and 3/16" inch carbon steel plate for strength and will feature bolt on (recessed flat bolt heads) front plate made of either steel or aluminum (your choice), for easy access to the winch.

If this prototype tests well (strength, wind noise, function), we hope to start producing as soon as possible. The will require no body modifications unlike retro fitting 4runner bumpers onto the GX. It should also accomodate multiple winches, as many winch bolt patterns and clearances are nearly identical.

I'll post more pics as it comes along and look forward to ya'lls feedback!

I REALLY wish you would create a build thread... Makes watching and discussing your progress much much easier for those of whom are trying to follow it. Versus seeing your progress scattered among multiple forums and multiple threads.

X2 on that as it looks like it's going to be pretty sweet!

Off to Moab next week to collect more photos. :)

Well we added uv stable marine poly board to the floor of our roof rack. This stuff is awesome! It can sit in the 100 deg sun all day and still be cool to the touch!!! Between this and the white lined roof our cab temps should stay way down.

I will say though it was a PAIN to bolt down with the little clearance I had to work with, but it's not coming off! Thank you to Jimmy a fellow MUDDER and a friend for dedicating a majority of his day to help!

That's a nice color...I don't think I've seen that color on a Funner before.

Thanks. There's a couple of them around, not many. And I guess its growing on me, with the black accents it looks a lot better than it did.

A few Moab pics

This should be enough eye candy for the web wheelers until they can get some 4Lo again.

Awesome...very jealous of Moab...love the stock look walking around the built trucks showing them the power of a Lex-Prado! Good call on sliders :)

I am tellin ya, the GX will soon overtake the FJ in offroad circles...the prices keep dropping and they are REALLY capable!

I was just thinking that. The cost of an FJ is still sky high while you can get a really nice and capable GX for quite a bit less. I think the only downside is aftermarket part availability and maybe maintenance/upkeep in the long run?!? Other than that you are getting a much nicer and user friendly vehicle.

Great pics BTW!!

Most aftermarket fit the gx...just have to know what to get. The only thing I know that aren't out there yet are template bumpers. Everything else can be done ( even the b uppers if yo u do a bit of research)
