^^^ The V6 has lots more options for aftermarket than the V8 (aux battery tray and cold air intake at least) so that's a huge plus! I'd personally just go with a 3" lift and steer away from a body lift if that's what you were saying...just IMO. :) CBI makes awesome front and rear bumpers and they are always willing to customize to your liking. I am also a fan of ARB like most people, but they only make a front bumper for us. :( RTT's are very cool and we are putting one on our expo trailer. Enjoy!

Hey thanks Daniel that's great info, the reason I say a body spacer is because I read somewhere that it's great to compensate for a bigger set of tires to avoid rubbing, and personally I love old man emu lifts and I think they only have a 2.5 for us. If you find anything else though add a link for me? Thank you so much!

What size tires are you wanting to run?

-Daniel

Honestly I'm not sure how wide, maybe a 33x10.5? Also my brothers (experienced cruiser dudes) recommend bfgoodrich mud terrains I believe they were called

Well in that case you likely would need some more well space. We're running 265/70-17's and a friend says he's running one size bigger even from that. I rub on the stock mud flaps, but that's cause the spacers combined with the FJ steelies I'm running. In any case our tires are about 32's. I've also been told on our rigs anything over 3" lift and you have to start extending cables, etc. I'd love to see what ya do!

-Daniel

Yeah I've read that as well. from the experiences I've had so far, these rigs are more than capable, so anything over three inches probably isn't even needed. Mainly because I'm not trying to make this into a destroyer of worlds, if I do that it will be down the road with a 40 or a 60. But again, thank you for your responses, I'm taking everything into consideration with this and I'll definitely need help along the way. If you stumble across any roof racks or any other cool stuff that would be good to throw on (but not too much crap, I still want her to look clean) let me know!

^^^ That's cool!

My '07 GX. Somewhat old photo. Would like to remove the steprails, but my "height challenged" wife needs the help in.

I NEED SLIDERS!!!! Is there not anyone on the east coast that has a slider design for the GX that is almost bolt-on ready???

Took the (under construction) expo trailer for a test run around the block before we made some mods to it...

Sorry to say, but you're absolutely wrong on that. K&N (and probably others) have a cold air intake for the V8 and once all the factory resonator is removed, there is gobs of room for an auxiliary battery! Been there, done that.

Love the snorkel! Was it aftermarket? If so, where did you find it?

The other half is awesome too! :flipoff2:

Great, I would love to wrong on this... I've searched beyond extensively and never turned up half as much for the V8 as I have for the V6. I'd absolutely LOVE to see some pics of what you've done and it would be super awesome if you could post some links to these sweet options. Thank you in advance!!!

-Daniel

P.S. I know there are cold air intakes for the V8 and I've installed them too, but I'm referring to water tight or easily sealable options for water fording.

okvette, very nice!... Prado right?

I didn't realize that your claim was in regards to a sealable air intake. Yes, I have a K&N Air Charger and installing that alone freed up space to add a 2nd battery beside the firewall.

This intake seems to be what you were looking for in V8 too:

^^^ Yep that was my fault for not being clear. That's the intake I installed on my mom's 06 V8, but it would take some plastic fab work to make it water tight. I just ended up modding our OEM one to be water tight and connect to our Safari snorkel.

Did our most important mod yet...the gear shifter knob! Custom made by yours truly...
