Howdy all,

I don't venture over into this side of the forums much but I'm trying to help a friend who recently moved to Namibia and is driving a 2004 Prado 120. It is looks an awful lot like a GX470, but is RHD.

Their gauge cluster recently failed, and neither their local Toyota shop nor the places they checked in Windhoek could find one.

The vin translates to a GRJ120R-GKPGKQ with a 05/2004 build date.
  1. PartSouq shows the part number as 83800-6E320.
  2. ToyoDIY gives that same number and three other possible matches, 83800-6D280, 83800-6D320, 83800-6E270.
ToyoDIY's cross reference shows that part as a match for 2003-2004 Prado 120s, so I don't have much hope a compatible part could be found on a Fortuner or other common African Toyota. If I'm wrong I'd like to know.

Any suggestions?

I wonder if this US SPEC gx470 cluster would be compatible. Unfortunately I don't know what the connections look like on the backside of the African version.

I have that installed. It's cool, but you'll need to order steering wheel controls to navigate it. I had to work with the seller quiet a bit to get everything working properly through update files.

Whether or not it's worth the price, hard to say. I give it a 7 out of 10.
