Most 80's are up to 120,000 or more miles by now and due for some major service (if not already done). My own cruiser at 118,000 needs plugs, possibly wires and distributor cap and rotor, starter contacts, a PPH and probably a bunch of other bits that I am about to get ordered from Dan. I'm sure there are many other parts I should be getting while making the order so can we put together a list of bits to be potentially replaced once the cruiser get to be an old girl? No need to include major service item that stand alone like the axle jobs.

off the top of my head: new fan clutch, gas cap, radiator cap, overflow cap + hose, pcv valve, rear bearing repack kit

In other words, last year you read through your owner's manual. :grinpimp:

I know what services I need do in general, it was a list of parts needed to get all at once economically from Dan. So often you start a job like changing the plugs and find you needed some sealing washer you didn't have. Thanks for the radiator cap reminder i had forgot that and its important.

Thanks everyone. Now I'm bulking at changing the belts and hoses because mine look just too good. Anyone want to tell me why I might be wrong here?

If they are original to the vehicle they are at the end of their service life. If they look "that good" perhaps they have been replaced at some point. Do you have any of the service records? What type of clamps are on the hoses? Often replacement hoses do not have OEM clamps re-used on them.

Should I add a fan clutch or water pump to this list? I have NO cooling problems.

Thanks for the input. Here is what I ordered.
