Hey guys and gals

I just wanted to share that I recent found a super cheap ODB2 bluetooth scanner that works with just about any phone. They are 12 dollars on amazon with free shipping!!!!!!!

http://www.amazon.com/ELM327-Blueto...d_sim_e_8?ie=UTF8&refRID=1HY05DE55SA952BC1KTN

I got one just to try with little expectations. Pair it up with a spare old android phone I had laying around and loaded Torque light(free vrsion) and WOW I scan see everything I wanted and could see! And with offline google map and other offline navigation apps I now have a dedicated scangauge, Navigation, MP3 player, games and many other use unit.......almost free!

I'm leaving it the OBD2 port and turn on the phone when ever I need, yes it's not permanent and turn on with the car but it's 12 bucks! Only complain I have is it is still a bit too big and I can't put the fuse cover back on.

Sample screen shot with GPS speed vs obd speed(trying to figure out the difference between 35s speed and cruiser speed), RPM, intake temp and coolant temp, they have tons of counters. They have other counters like fuel level but our OBD does support that function.

Thanks!!:bounce::bounce2::cheers:

Forgot to mention with this thing you can have a scanner for EVERY car you own. Also with the Torque app you can have multiple screens for different counter and different cars!

Gotta love technology and my chinese peps for making it cheap!

Can the software graph functions in real time, like oxygen sensor data on a moving graph?

I see the moving dials, didn't see a moving graph ie: moving right to left to show peaks and valleys of O2 sensor Volts rising and falling.

I didn't set my counter to be graph, just down load it and try it. It's awesome.

BTW, anyone know of a simple voltmeter app? I had one, but it didn't work with my HTC sensation, only my son's SG4

Torque or all the scan apps has volt as one of the value. It's all through obd scanner.

Can't get the F reading to work ?

This is a cool app, and I am using it too.

But, I can only get temps and speed to show up in Celsius and Kilometers/Hour. I went into the More>Setting> and I have it set to use miles and not set to use Celsius. Fahrenheit seems to be the default. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Russell

Go to settings and you can change that. Funny you mention that because I had the same problem but the second time I got into settings it worked.

Hey Qball, how exactly did you get it to snap to on the F readings instead of the C readings? I can't get it sorted out.
BTW, I like your Biggie shout out in your sig. I think it's lost on most Mudders.

I'll look again later tonight but I remember going into the settings and unchecked use Celsius and KM option. Kinda weird because like you I tried it first and it didn't work but it worked later on, might be a bug or something. Try terminate the app or reboot and try again.

Yeah, the biggie small reference/lyric probably seems foreign for most.:hillbilly:

I've just been playing around with Beats music service over Bluetooth on the stereo I just put in my 80 and I'm blown away with that piece of tech. May have to give this a try, even though I already have an Ultragauge.

Could I get this to work with an Iphone 4? I have a used one that isn't being used for anything. It would be nice to be able to put it to work.
