Hey Mudders,
Been a long time since I've posted here, but I'm finally back in an 80 series! I've recently picked up a JDM 1993 HDJ81, manual, 1HD-T and it seems many Japanese import have a similar head unit, and in my case the Pioneer Carrozzeria AVIC-ZH07. Below is a quick guide on how to pair your phone to the the unit, while this seems trivial it took me a few hours of playing with google lens to get it to work. I hope maybe this guide will help someone, as I tried to search and was not able to find any threads. Apologies if this was posted in the wrong sub-forum.
After your unit boots you should see the the map. I've used Google Lens on the images below to make it easier to follow. (No I don't live next to "Slots Vegas", though it sounds fun)
Click the "Menu" button on the middle of the unit (physical button on the bottom middle)
Here is where I got confused, the Bluetooth Audio button just shows connection status, but does not allow you to pair. You need to click the "Settings/Edit" button on the bottom of the menu.
Now we are in "System Settings" and tap the "Bluetooth Settings" button on the top left.
This is the menu where you pair. Tap "Device Registration" and use your phone to pair with the "Pioneer NAVI" device. A prompt will appear in Japanese, you want to click "Yes" to pair, which is the farthest left button.
That's it, now you can use your phone for music!
