I don't know how some of you guys are getting such high MPG. I have to drive 60mph around 1900RPM on my 4speed to get 13ish MPG. Just have 33" and sliders.

stop and go in CA? Even on the freeway, people seem to modulate their speed with the brakes and then floor it....drove me NUTS

I got terrible milage when I lived in socal, swear the gas was bad or something.

But, I don't even keep track of the milage in the 100... smiles per mile

You know what, it is probably the gas here. I remember my tuner for my other car said the gas here is terrible. He couldn't make as much power with the 91 here vs 91 out of Cali.

Sounds about right. Only thing I ever did that helped was when I removed my roof rack. (I suspect the factory estimate was without the rack). I decided to not care anymore.
Same here.
I get a constant 13MPG on highway @ 75MPH (GPS measured) I have 33" KO2, front and rear bumper, winch, ARB roof rack, snorkel.
Before building it I was getting exactly the same.
When removed the roof rack I got 14 MPG, felt like Christmas.

That place.... glad I moved :)

Did you remove the OEM rack?

I see ~17 mpg highway @70mph with winter tires. Nice, light foot. Long following distance to avoid unnecessary braking.

Interesting find. You didn't change anything else? I also average 11.3-12 nowadays on most tanks with a mix of highway and city driving and used to get better mileage. Usually get 13-14ish highway.

I put some fresh hose clamps on all the hoses related to the canister and VSVs.

I don't really recall, I probably used 8 or 10 of them, the small kind. I also replaced one vacuum hose since it was just starting the split at the end. The factory clamps are the kind you can squeeze and easily remove. I replaced them all with worm gear type just to be sure. Honestly, I did the vacuum hose clamps before I did the canister and it never fixed the CEL. Only rebuilding the canister made a dramatic difference. I don't think there was ever a vacuum leak, it was more like I was ruling that out since it was cheap and easy.

I did have the P0441 come back one time post-rebuild, but it took quite some time to reappear. Previously it was happening a lot more. I suppose there could be an intermittent VSV failure, but if it passes inspection next month and I only have to reset the CEL once every few months, that's ok by me.

Normal!
1998 Bone Stock 285k
12-13 mpg

I have a high elevation commute. Driving to work 26 miles, I drop over 1000’ in the 1st ten miles then relatively flat after that. Mostly 65 mph. Then about 2 miles of city (well a town of 8,000) traffic. 20 mpg. Really. About 16 mpg on the return trip. I usually fill up with about as many miles in as the “cruising distance” predicts in the beginning, but with a 1/4 tank left. 300-ish miles. Slightly larger than stock but old and cupping tires and fresh engine and diff oils.

Lots of factors! I have ARB front and rear duel swing outs with 35’s, sliders and winch for a cool 9mpg.

I drive like a grandpa too. This was her fuel consumption on our trip from Houston to Las Vegas. I just stayed on the speed limit. This 2006 LX470 is bone stock.

11.4 mpg is "normal" for me :)

I did a longer drive than normal for me in this rig over the weekend (went to the UFO festival in McMinnville, OR) and I managed an average of 17.2 which is the highest I've ever gotten. I'm great with that but sadly most of my driving is a mix and I still get around the same 11.4 I started this topic out with.
