This is at idle, after a 30 minute highway drive, 86F outside. At 25-30mph, the needle sits just below halfway. At highway speed, just above halfway.

Does that seem right?
 
Yours reads higher than mine at startup
 
Looks like mine at idle. And I just installed a new pressure sensor gauge near the oil filter.

you bet. I've always considered doint this due to "coursness" of factory guage.

It threads in directly behind where the oil filter gets threaded onto . I was showing no oil pressure at idle and low oil pressure while driving. I now show 1/4 pressure at idle and 1/2 pressure while freeway driving.

Took me about 5 minutes to take the old one off and put the new one in. I paired it with an oil change with the filter off which gave me some more room. I was advised to not use teflon tape or any thread sealer.

I think live to ski was thinking you installed a sensor that provided an actual pressure reading, rather then replacing the OEM switch to get the dash gauge functional...maybe? cuz yeah it would be sweet to see an actual oil pressure reading .

Maybe like this , just need to find right size and hope it fits in the 2UZ without contacting. I think it would, since I've seen some people fit some pretty long filters in there

To the OP, my dash is also right at that line at idle
 
lots of threads on this, I had a situation where mine went FULL max on my 02 with 276K when driving around, and then after I pulled the single wire on the sending unit it went to almost nothing. I replaced the sending unit, and it acts like it has lost its mind. Startup max above the top bar, then slowly comes down as engine warms up. After warm at idle it sits at the bottom hash.. when driving it moves around. Going for a m1-209 filter this oil change and I might just put an actual gauge on there at some point if it keeps this up just for peace of mind. I think it's good that it is moving. Sender is a :banana: job, you'll lose about 1/4 a cup of oil.
 
So my guage reading below the tick mark when warm at idle = 15PSI on a harbor freight mechanical oil testing unit.

It sure can live forever, and I'm all for monitoring your T's and P's (temps and pressures) but there's a fine line between monitoring and paranoia though.....The Toyota temp and oil pressure gauges throughout history, in my experience, really lack any accuracy. I've found that by the time the dash tells you there is a problem, it may be too late. Especially on my older Toyota temp gauges

Thank you for posting this. Just changed mine out and I can actually uses the whole guage now instead of the bottom 10%
