How much is the increase in steel prices hitting you?

In the overall picture... The size of the sheet to the cut pieces made from that sheet... The prices I've seen guys post of the sheet now... Overall bumper "cost" might have needed to go up about 15-22.00 for most fabricators. I'm seeing 150-300.00 list price increases from some fabricators.....

Good deal. He asked about "in stock" so I was referencing that when I said no one had anything at the moment.

I dig the new bumper design, really well thought out.

Correct and in about two weeks I'll have 4-5 in stock. Thanks.

Where can I find your options and pricing, as well as details about the "new design"? Thanks!

You must have a far better supplier than we do! We are paying close to $700 a sheet for 10 ga p&o paid $160 a sheet 5 months ago. Not to mention packing material going up over 50%, shipping costs about 20%, increases in hardware costs ect. Even with our prices increasing we are still down 15-20% on Margins.

Ben and I traded steel numbers this morning and he is being tortured by his suppliers to say the least........... I could sell to him and make a 30% profit and beat what he is having to pay.......

This is ridiculous and 'MERICA suppliers taking advantage should be SHOT! absolute disgusting this is happening especially in the "trades" industry.

Take a step back and really look at where your dollar is going guys........... California, while everyone thinks is a communist state of liberals.......... we have a 75.7 billion dollar surplus (DURING THIS ECONOMIC CRISIS) and the state plans to GIVE it back to 25% of the population in stimulus checks, 7+ billion for repaying past due rent payments and overdue utility bills..... what is your state doing for you.

Love your work J. If Cali is running black numbers as you suggest, where is everybody going? https://www.dof.ca.gov/Forecasting/Demographics/Estimates/E-2/

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California’s population fell by more than 182,000 last year, the first yearly loss ever recorded for the nation’s most populous state that halted a growth streak dating to its founding in 1850 on the heels of a gold rush...In recent years, more people have left California for other states than have moved there, a trend some suggest is a result of the state's high taxes and progressive politics.

Trust but verify comes to mind mate. :cautious:

Take care of your extended family members (MUDDERS) and know this, the politicos only want your vote and your money. The older they get, the better they are at telling you whatever you wanna hear.

Sounds like you need to add a logistics unit for metal products and make hay while you can...

Funny thing is... we moved here from Wyoming ... Prices for us went down across the board except food/grocery. I mean WAY down.

Housing, shop rent, metal prices, utilities, auto insurance, extremely better health insurance, more clear on business taxes (collecting sales tax sucks, but part of it) even gas prices were cheaper.

We are in a different area than most things California (see my avatar location) but people here aren't leaving California... People are moving to this area.

I retired once when I was 27. Got bored after two years and started working again. Retired again at 41 and started Trail Tailor as a hobby and to do something to fill my time........... No one tells me anything I don't want to hear, most of the time I don't listen anyway. I honestly work for fun these days.

I can say in 4 years I've seen more good done here then not compared to most states I've lived and worked in, which is a LOT over my life.

I'll second J's opinion, even here in SoCal.

An often overlooked ca benefit is the yearly prop tax minimal increase as compared to increase tied to appraised value. Helps prevent getting taxed out of your home...once your in, u can stay in.

Now, school funding is another discussion...

Sorry, I missed your NoCA avatar brother. Congrats on the early retirements (x2).

I have fond memories of Northern California as I spent my early Military years at Mather AFB (Sacramento) attending NAV/EWO School. I really had a great time up there. It felt like a large town, easy going atmosphere and all you had to do was go north and you were back in the wooded hills. It's been suggested that we probably had too much fun floating down the American River on most every Saturday...

Back then we didn't notice the politics, everyone I came into contact with liked the military and for most of us, were right out of college and were making the best coin ever, learning to best tell pilots where to go and have them looking forward to the arrival. Flying and fighting led to great times celebrating lives.

Sorry for pontificating mates...

How much does the Trail Tailor rear bumper go for? Site only has general photos for me

Happy 2022.

Any suggestions for a rear bumper with the following characteristics:

-Decent aesthetic match with the ironman 4x4 front bumper (which is already installed)
-Fairly low profile
-If it includes a swingout, the swingout can be removed and stored for the occasional long trip as needed. Want to preserve ease of getting into the rear of vehicle

I looked a bit at the Coastal Offroad bumper, which can be built with no swingouts, any others in that realm?

Side note, anyone have a pic of a Coastal Offroad rear bumper without swingouts?
