The lower black window trim powder coat is peeling exposing the chrome trim. Anyone have any ideas how to restore this? Thanks! I will send pics soon.

A couple of mine were peeling so I just replaced all four. They were about $40 each. If they're spotting, steel wool cleans them up nicely, but not sure about the peeling.

There's a screw on the inside of the door and then they pop off...kinda. I used a set of plastic trim tools and they're difficult to remove without destroying. Not an issue if you're replacing them, but if you're going to repaint them, I'd just tape off the door and paint them in place.

Great idea. Maybe I will start with the paint idea and see how it looks.

This is a circumstance in which Plasti-Dip is acceptable. I've redone panel trim on old Volvo's with the stuff, and while I personally find it tacky on body panels, it works well for trim.

Another great idea. I'm going to give it a shot. I will post some before and after shots. Thanks guys!

I finished peeling mine, polished the chrome, and am enjoying the only bling on my entire truck.

I'm thinking about replace mine. I see one screw on front doors, none on rear doors?

I just checked the old ones that are still on my garage floor. No screws on the rears.

Thanks guy's

Any tip on removal? Like window down, plastic tools ....

BTW: I'm looking at replacing because of concern the seal is not doing it's job. The seal that keeps water from running down window into door cavity.

Windows down, plastic tools, couple rags or cardboard to pry against as to not scratch the doors. It will be nasty under the old ones, so have your preferred car-washing gear handy, and some glass cleaner.

I also cleaned and lubed the window tracks while I was at it, so I took the door cards off so they wouldn't take a beating. The trim on the front doors slides behind where the mirror mounts, so start prying it off at the rear and work your way towards the mirror.

Finally cleaned it up after Big Bend Ranch 2 months ago. Griots and an orbital and this 19 year old is ready for more.

Replaced all 4 trims today - trims from partsouq.com - plugged in the Vin no. - ordered the trims (very easy) - P/Ns as follows:
#7571060061 MOULDING ASSY, FRONT DOOR BELT, RH
#7572060061 MOULDING ASSY, FRONT DOOR BELT, LH
#7573060041 MOULDING ASSY, REAR DOOR BELT, RH
#7574060041 MOULDING ASSY, REAR DOOR BELT, LH

watched the following YouTube video -

Removed the originals and installed the new ones - easy job - less than 1 hour to complete all 4 doors. Beware - I got a bit over zealous malletting the new trims and dented one of them (but still looks gr8). I'll know better next time.....

Costs about $170 - IMO better than messing about with paint etc......

See b4 and after shots below.
